I remember some time ago don't remember which thread but rabblefroth said they would like to get rid of stat requirements but its not possible right now. If they did get rid of them what would be good/bad about it, I don't think this should belong in the suggestions because I'm discussing about something that might happen in the future.

Stat requirement bind people to reasonable builds. If there were no stat reqs you would have Blood Mages with almost 200 strength. Getting rid of them would be havoc.

...and that is why issues of stat abuse would have to be fixed before stat requirements would be removed.

Battle elf, the original proposal was not to get rid of WEAPON REQUIREMENTS but to get rid of skill requirements for more flexible builds. So blood mages would still not be able to have 200 strength.

Removing either skill or stat requirement wouldn't help balancing anything out. I think that the reason BM's are only using str builds because it is working... The other classes appear to have to little of either defense or resistance. Its not about nerfing BM's its about adjusting the other classes so that they actually have a chance versus the Op'ed BM.

Actually you're wrong king, it was to get rid of WEAPON requirements not skills. I do recall Rabble's post since I also discussed with Ashari (Rabble also takes care of balance) about Beta weapons which don't have them (yet?) and it was about weapons not skills. Skills would still retain them to keep balance whilst weapons wouldn't have them but unless abusing issue is taken care of, this isn't happening.

Besides, are these discussions allowed? We have no info about them and it's pure speculation to be honest, not sure if this will be done so can be suggestion too in a way.

Yeah, silly you. :P

It's a good idea to let them go (requirements) and leave skill ones obviously to preserve some balance but it'd be tough to prevent abusing. Like people do with Beta Weapons now but stronger and even more stats. xD Penalities could be done - not in form of slower stat progression but actual penality so perhaps lower chance to hit if you abuse Strength (you need accuracy to hit, right?), or if you abuse Dex then your attack is weaker (you need power to hit, right? xD), and so on.

Posibilities with penalities are endless if you're creative and it'd be good step towards taking out the requirements + keeping the abuse down. ^_^
