Nexus... -> To boldly go where no game has gone before. (7/26/2012 21:12:24)

This is a PVP game. Ask anyone, the heart of this game revolves around Player vs Player interaction and battles.

I find it weird that this PVP game, you know, EpicDuel, has been around for approx. (3)+ years and through allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll this time we have gotten 1 new PVP mode, as in 1 new PVP mode... So then the question becomes, what are they releasing every week? New content, bug fixes, and anything other than balance changes, because as we have all come to find as a community, balance cannot be fixed.

The only new game mode is premium...as in, it is only available to a selective few in the community because it requires the purchase of a "key" to unlock it. Non-Variums rarely buy this game mode because their equipment isn't good enough to sustain a 1v2. The mode I am speaking of is of course, Juggernaut.

Wars are fun, but only fun to a point, and that point is when you realize that the only practical way to win is through the use of bombs, which cannot be purchased for Credits, but are instead dropped (luck based) to the masses, or purchased with a premium (real money) currency.

Quests are really boring! I'm not trolling either, I like quests in other games, but in this game its Win [X] 1v1 Matches, Challenge [X] Players/NPC, or purchase an item using credits. The rewards are pretty bland to; credits or tokens. My point is that quests bring nothing new to the game, they only minorly expand on features we already had.

Drops could be so much better. Once again, I'm not trolling, its just that drops are pretty much useless to anyone who has Varium, because the only items that drop are outdated, non-rare, and non-unique weapons. The only useful thing that has come from drops for me is 1000 new credits. Yet again, drops are an example of a feature that only minorly improves on an already established system.

Enhancements are really pricy, and only further the gap between Varium and Non-Varium players. I'm not going to discuss this much, but its hard for a feature that costs 150k credits or 1200 Varium per item to be of much use to the majority of players, and to the rest of us who do use it, its just feels really awful as customers to spend more on stat points (balance) then on the actual weapon (art).

The story is ok, and I respect Cindy for all the hard work she puts into it, but I miss BigTuna (if you don't know who BigTuna is, he is Andrew Garfields character from The Social Network). Anyway, talking rabits are cute, but I can't help but wonder why we arn't trying to get ourselves off Delta V to explore new worlds, new civilizations, and boldly go where no game avatar has gone before...

So back to the original purpose of this thread. Where are the PVP features? Where are the:

Tournaments
Faction improvements
Survival modes (yes MODES, PvE and PvP)
2v2 Linking
Evolved class specific ultimates
Hidden skill tree
Partying (Name one game without a party system)
Faction wars (yes, I want to see CAD fight Legit for world domination)

[Mr. Black OP]

3v1- 3 lower lvs (lower than what a 2v1 jugg goes against) vs a juggernaut (premium mode)
Survival- Fight players slightly below your lv range (5-7 levels lower)
Extreme Surivival- Fight players 2-3 levels lower than you
Primary Only- You can only use a primary, no guns, or auxes
Battle Royale- 3 or 4 players attacking each other
Lightning round- 5 second turns instead of 15 (does not count for daily boards)
Tag Team- 4 players, 2 people each side, they can change anytime
Spectator Mode- watch others fight, place bets (betting unlocks at lv 25, can watch at any level, max of 1000 credits)
3v3- 3 players 1 lv 10-15, 1 20-25, 1 30-35, fight individually and the team with that wins 2/3 is the winner of the whole match

These are all features that beifit everyone, and expand on the heart of the game, PvP. The best part is their are 50 other features just like these, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

So please discuss. Where have the PvP features gone, and would you like to see feature releases rather than content releases in the future, even if they may take longer to make? I know I would.

Please read the last line before locking. This is not a troll thread unless you consider pop culture references trolling. I have really tried to stay within the guidelines, and would appreciate some responses. I understand if you have to lock this IF it turns into a flame thread, but until then please give it a chance.

That just decreases the small amount of strategy that is left in the game.

I have a few more ideas but with EDs current battling systems they wouldn't work.

R those multiplayer games?

This is probably the most debatable on my list. While it may slightly decrease strategy, it also decreases copy n' paste builds or "cookie cutter builds." The current Blood Mage balance issue is a great example of where this feature would be useful.

Don't think any of those games are multiplayer games or MMO's. I'm talking about games with multiple people, as I think I implied. What would be the point of partying in Skyrim, its a single-player game...?

I think dead space 2 lacks a party system but I'm not completely sure.

EDIT: Yup it lacks a party system.

@below
I really don't play much MMO and you did say "or", it doesn't matter though cause it is technically multi player also there isn't a co-op, it isn't FPS its a THIRD person shooter.
Besides how would a party system be in ED? We have 1v1 or 2v2, it's not like you can be in in a party of 8 people, we have challenge which is like a 1v1 party I guess, in 2v2 it would favor the 1 side that does party up.

Your not getting it...Dead Space 2 is not an MMO...You can multiplayer/Co-Op that is the extent of multiplayer, and that in itself (being able to play with a friend) is as far as partying goes in most FPS games these days.

Get it?

I smiled :D
Ontopic: I would love these changes, although, 3v1 woulda be unfair.

Lvl 34 vs 3 lvl 19,
lvl 19 goes first, uses say bunker for 18 damage, 19 goes second uses smoke for 3 damage, juggernaut goes, 1 hit KO's the lvl 19 that is yet to go. Lvl 19 goes, hits with a physical attack, hits 3 still, lvl 19 goes, hits 4 with a physical attack, juggernaut goes 1 hit KO's the 2nd lvl 19.

now, lets say the guy had 120 hp, after killing 2 of the low lvl's, he has 93 HP left and there's only 1 lvl 19 left with 60-70 hp. This wouldn't be fair.

Now let's make the juggernaut face lvl 23's. Lvl 23 goes first, hits 30 with bunker, lvl 23 goes 2nd, uses plasma, hits 30, now juggernaut goes, bring the 3rd one down to 10 hp, then the 3rd lvl 19 goes, uses smoke, 3, first one goes, uses berserker, hits 27, then 2nd one goes, uses plasma rain, hits 20

At this time, the juggernaut has nearly killed one opponent, while being at 23 health, the juggernaut would probably then heal, but then get hit 3 more times, kill the 3rd guys, the fairly quickly, get killed by their rages.

Some make this seem fair to me.

Just a reminder:

This is not a suggestion thread, or a place to discuss suggestions. You may, however, discuss whether you would like to see feature releases rather than content related updates. What would be the benefit to each? Please stay on topic, I don't want this locked.

Thanks,

Mr. Black OP -> RE: Can we please get some PvP up in this PvP game? (7/26/2012 22:30:45)

@blaze
I didn't mean that low, I meant like level 26-24 for the 3 lower ones, but maybe make 1 a bit higher. Maybe we could do this:
Player 1 (lv 27-29)
Player 2 (lv 26-24)
Player 3 (lv 26-24)

Turns:
Player 1->Juggernaut->Player 2-> Juggernaut-> Player 3-> Player 1 and so on

Lets get back on topic, PM me if you have questions about my ideas.

Waxor9001 -> RE: To boldly go where no game has gone before. (7/26/2012 22:32:18)

This sound more like a suggestion than a discussion , but yeah I like your ideas.

SMGS -> RE: To boldly go where no game has gone before. (7/26/2012 22:46:54)

Taking a look through this thread, seems like most posts have gone off topic here. I can see that you'd like to discuss about how game features should be implemented ingame, although the problem here is the specific issues you pointed out in your main post have overshadowed that discussion. You're welcome to throw those specific issues and some solutions to resolve them in the ED Suggestions forum as well as create a new thread here in the GD about the topic you originally intended to discuss here. Locking up.
