Well, an idea cane up. We wait for ques to due.

Well, I was on a killstreak. Nearly 20 players in a row... then I lost. Why? I was put against a player 4 levels higher than I am.
Then I look at low levels. Level 2's always beat level 1's cause of the boost.

Honestly, at low levels, the opponent's level can really mess the kills up.

This is why I think we need Que filters.

We need a max level to choose to fight .

Now, what really hurts us is that we actually lose xp and credits if we put on filters. If we put more filters, like block blood mages and mercenaries, then we will loose a bit of credits and xp. Like, blocking certain classes should drop, say, 7% xp and. 5% For each level restriction above you.

Not supported for several reasons. If this was happened it wouldn't be far to people of those classes because you would be basically singling them out. Also just because you are having problems with those classes doesn't mean that everyone is. If you keep having problems with these classes just redo you build and try again.

Also making them lose credits and exp? Oh sure then those classes would be complaining up a storm saying it isn't far that they are losing Exp and Credits while the others aren't and why? because they dominate more then other classes? While I lose to str blood mages and tech spamming mercs it isn't fair that they lose exp and credits because of this.

Also opponent level doesn't always determine the win it is the build that uses it and the sometimes the luck factor. I remember clobbering some strength blood mages with my tech mage build because I gain a block and/or deflection when they use their moves.

As for the decrease in the level gap I am iffy on that one since if they decrease the level gap it would be harder for people to find duels since not every person on the server is within that set range or even available to duel. Remember they set it like that so people can get duels quickly. So unless you want to grind on NPC more then often the level gap is good as is.

Levels can really screw somebody up at lower levels. Build doesn't exactly matter if the can dominate you because they. 5 levels higher. Unless that person has horrible gear and. A screwed up build.

As for filtering classes it can't be "unfair". They have a CHOICE to turn on filter or not. The filters deduction for classes should be high. Its either they suck it up or they take the hit.

Say I'm level ten and the highest level I could find is 15.

Blocking level 15 takes away 10%.
Blocking 14 and up takes 20%.
Blocking 13 and up take 30%
Blocking 12 and up takes 40%

Now for each class, 25% should be taken.

Now, players have a CHOICE turn on filter if they absolutely must.
But these penalties are there to keep it from being abused as a walk in the park.

I do not support this. The problem is that you are only looking at it from one side, yours. If you decide you can't win against players 2 or more levels above you, you turn on the filter and go into the queue. The problem is that when a lot of players begin using this, you find you can't get battles started. You are not allowing the server to match you with anybody more than 1 level above you because you are filtering them out -- AND you can't get fights with anyone more than 1 level below you because those people are filtering you out. If you narrow the matching window too much, battles don't start regularly.
Of course, this isn't a problem if the filtering feature isn't used by a significant portion of the players. But if it is not going to be used by the general populace, then we really don't need it.

The math behind my argument:
Max 1000 player per server. 35 possible levels. This comes to about 30 players per level. Some levels have more, and some have even less.
If you restrict to only 1 level up or down, you have a max of around 90 eligible players to match with.
Of those 90 players, how many are going into the queue? We have three queues, plus NPC farming, and misc.(checking their faction, challenging, exploring, or just plain AFK). Guessing at 1/3 1v1, 1/3 2v2, and 1/3 jugg/misc. we are now down to only about 30 eligible players.
How many of those are currently in battle and not in the que? probably most of them, since battles take longer to do than wait for. So of the 30 eligible, maybe 24 of them are already in battle. This is getting to be a very small pool.

Now lets think of what happens when the server only has 800 players, or maybe 600 or even less.

Given the various choices available to the players, and the wide range of levels from top to bottom, the 5 level window is necessary to ensure that battles start regularly without long waits.
