Stat Requirements?

- on equipment

- on skills

ansh0 -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 14:59:03)

They are fine.

You don't want 150+ str Bm's with the latest gear.

Still against agility though, NEEDS.TO.GO.AWAY!

rayniedays56 -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 15:11:57)

Agility?

Well, Ansh, I would like to see it raised, but to never go away.

Imagine fighting a 140 HP BM with 23-28 def and res with no agility affecting it. :/ Dangerous.

EDIT

Took out unnessary content.

Mother1 -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 17:27:22)

Agility isn't even worth much anymore except to those tanks who have high dex and tech. I don't know how many times I have seen BM with high health, high strength and low defense cream me when I have decent everything because they spam strength and the HP is so high it makes defenses worthless.

Heck I remember when I first saw the str BM and even though I won in a 2 v 2 everytime I would fight a 1 vs 1 I would get creamed no matter what build I used.

If anything Agility needs to be buff some so they users who can't tank up or don't want to tank up have better protection from quick kill builds like that. Also make the loss for less agility higher as well.

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 17:31:25)

i like requirements, they help make ridiculous builds impossible
200hp
110 energy
minimum everything except tech

every build except 5 focus would abuse one stat

ND Mallet -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 17:34:24)

Agility: Needs scaling. You can't expect lvl 40s to keep low health when they'll easily cut through health with their high level weapons as well as stats.

Stat reqs: On weapons; Yes. Anyone arguing otherwise should watch this and tell me that you want weapons with no requirements.
On Skills; Those aren't for balance at high levels. They're too prevent low levels from running around with Maxed out Passives and abusing strength(low level mercs were known best for having Maxed Hybrid and having high strength).

veneeria -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 18:05:34)

Pretty much what ND malled said there. Stats req on skills and item haven't really been a main problem.
Why am i echoing him? Because it is something vital that has been ignored, depite how many times told without spamming.

rej -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 18:28:20)

Yeah... agility needs to be revised. Now that strength builds + infernal interdictor exists, abusers can easily hit 60+ damage on well defended players.

Stabilis -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 22:59:06)

Changing the subject on the second page, and thanks for the replies by the way.

Mr. Black OP -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 23:18:20)

@nd
I don't get the point of your video, you were the one using no requirement weapons and you were the one who lost...
Agility needs to go or at the very least revised.
On skills, I'm not for them because it kills creativity, nerf the strength stat and directly nerf skills instead of adding a requirement for a nerf and it should be fine.

Stabilis -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/27/2012 23:43:29)

My quick thoughts on stat requirements:

Sure, stat requirements on items and skills both bind stat points with the purpose of slowing down the capability to extort high numbers, but is the result really positive or altogether successful at all? Here are some factors to bear in mind:

- stat requirements may cancel out stat mods (in the event of honouring 1 type of stat, for example, attempting to achieve Dexterity points but requirements add points to Technology)

- stat requirements do not penalize stat abuse (in the event of honouring 1 type of stat, for example, Strength, Dexterity requirements may not negatively affect the ability to Strike but the opposite)

- stat requirements lead to build clustering (in the event of stat requirements, over time, these requirements may build up enough to cause builds to split points, causing Focus, therefore Focus builds)

Stat requirements, as a whole, may be as positive as they are negative for balance options. With the "Focus Trap", problems as these will progressively worsen.

Drianx -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/28/2012 2:19:42)

- Stat requirements
They are fine. Somehow they are doing this very good. Too good compared to other things.

- Equipment
well here comes trouble.
At this moment they release equipment randomly.
Some items become outdated very quickly, while others last for too long.
They need a good and consistent plan for releasing equipment, to control equipment lifecycle and its usefulness over time.
If they did that, they would be able to predict varium purchases and make further plans better and more accurately.
Speaking about recent Dragon Buster trouble, they should make a new policy about seasonal rares.
Like, every year when that equipment gets released again, they should update the items to current standard but for a price.
This way they will be able to recycle good art and make it last for a very long time.
And the most important fact about that: if they decide to apply such a policy, they should only apply it on new equipment, not on existing stuff.

- Skills
Skill trees need improvement - but first, stats need improvement - importance of Support must be increased, that is.
Once stats are balanced, they can start revisiting skill trees, and start with TLM.
Skills also need rebalancing. Massacre is too strong, while Surgical Strike is too weak, because it does not stack with any debuff - because Mercenaries themselves have no useful debuff to boost SS.

ND Mallet -> RE: What is Your Opinion on: ... (8/28/2012 8:54:28)

@OP If you noticed, the vid was back when Deflects were based on support. I obviously had the advantage in support but got neither a crit or deflection once in that video or that battle. Just one deflection and I would've won. So basically I lost due to luck and only to luck. That build had a huge win ratio(at least in the high 80s to low 90s).
