fhiz -> Highly disappointed in the epic duel community... (8/31/2012 20:03:57)

I was in a 1v1 which I should have won. He had used two health boosters, and at the end of the battle he used atom smasher taking me down to 0 energy, so I used an energy booster, I had rage and he only had to hit me for me to get enough energy back to use plasma bolt, but instead he skipped 2 turns until he could use atom smasher again so I couldn't kill him. I know this can't be how the developers intended the game to be played. I think if you skip 2 turns in a row, you should be disconnected. If you miss one turn because of lag or you get distracted, that's fine because everyone does. But if you skip two in a row, your doing it on purpose. This circumventing of the system to avoid giving someone energy back through reroute should not be allowed. You should have to preform some action every turn. The reason I say I should have won is because the battle ended with him at 3 health. Anything he did aside from skipping 2 turns would have resulted in me winning. If he had used field commander to avoid giving me energy back, then he wouldn't have had enough energy to use atom smasher again, and if he had used blood shield for the same purpose then he would have died. This doesn't just apply to energy draining, if you have rage, you should have to use whatever you have off of cool down. Here's another scenario where this would come into play. Blood mage verses tactical mercenary. The blood mage is at 20 health(enough to survive another hit) he has rage, but the only move that would finish him, lets say plasma cannon, is on cool down. The tlm has 40 health and 16 energy. If the blood mage uses his rage on anything else, it will give the tlm enough energy to heal and win the battle, but instead he skips a turn, the tlm strikes(because that's all he can do), The blood mage lives with 4 health then rages plasma cannon to win the battle. ^the above is a hypothetical situation that didn't happen to me or anyone else to my knowledge I don't believe this is how the game is meant to be played. If you want to stall away a turn in order to save your rage or not give someone energy back, then you should be forced to boost(wasting credits) or use a move that doesn't use rage/hit your opponent(wasting energy). At the moment, there's no down side to playing the game this backwards way and there needs to be. Have you lost because someone used this tactic on you, or have you beaten someone using this tactic. Anyway, I look forward to seeing what anyone else has to say about this. _________________________________edit______________________________________________________________________ For anyone who just reads the first post: Stop saying mean things. I was trolling. ------------------------------------edit 2------------------------------------------ I created this thread solely to see the response I would get. would people agree? Would they disagree? Would they try to offer helpful tips or would they just be mean, and for the most part everyone was mean. I am the tactical mercenary in the above scenario I described I skip turns all the time, but I feel bad about it because my opponents honestly deserve to win those fights. What I've discovered is aside from a few diamonds in the rough, the epic duel community(at least the ones on the forums) is just a bunch of elitist jerks unwilling to offer help to a fellow player. I've played this game for close to two years now and the people have always been this way. I don't know why expected it to be any different now. I urge everyone who will listen to please just be a little nicer. If someone doesn't understand or agree with something, don't refer to it as crying or whining. If you see someone in need of help, offer them some advice with a cheery attitude, don't kick dirt on their face and call them a noob. I made the decision before I submitted this troll post that based on the response I got, It would decide whether I quit or kept playing epic duel, and I'm sorry to say I quit. You get called names when you win, your a noob if you lose. You get called an idiot if give your opinion. You start a ten page argument if you make a suggestion. Balance doesn't exist and never has or will. This game just isn't fun any more. The player base doesn't grow, it's just the same people who have always been here because no one is willing to help out new players. Epic duel is dying. All of my friends quit for the same reasons as I am. I've said enough. I hope everyone considers improving their attitude to make it more enjoyable for anybody that's left.
