classifiedname -> Charms (10/22/2012 15:17:34)

Charms would be little enhancers that can be equipped one at a time. they would do little things like Protection from "curse" skill, or adds massive strike, or 5% increase melee damage. but the point is they would never be seen in battle, so there would be no "need" to come up with a different design each one. so in theory more could be made. Also it would add a new way to help boost each person's build. Again it would be things like 5% increase to stun, 10% increase to critical hit , and other various effects could be made.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 15:59:48)

sorry not supported, this would make each person don't know what hit them. and specials are only available on special or promo weapons so this would destroy the point of having a special weapon with a special skill. and is it gonna be varium only? if it is its gonna widen the gap thats already affecting non variums. and if you suggest this for both credit and varium options im sure varium players would complain because specials are sorta varium only thing. also a similar suggestion has been made before.

classifiedname -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 16:19:18)

what do you mean would know what hit them? i would know if i was hit by massaive strike if im hit by it! im confused??

it would not destroy special skills if it added on to them and created new ones. besides it does not have to disable skills and just add unto as i said 5% increase to stun and other things along that road.

non-variums can buy varium if its that bad...

also i was not aware of a previous suggestion sorry.

personally, i think we could use more special skills i was highly disapointed that kimberly's axe had nothing to it.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 16:23:56)

5% chance to cause a effect means something. and it would be op to even just have a massive strike special without even having the weapon itself. then everyone will go support build with their favorite op weapon.

classifiedname -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 16:57:03)

so what ??

let them try to stun with 5% increase?

are you so focused on balance that you would make it that everyone has the same advantages as the other?

and you do realize that u can massive strike with your aux if you have the primary equipped? by saying that, your saying that the infernal weapons are OP .......

having massive strike wont be OP because you use them and you can still lose just as easily.

not everyone that has the infernal weapon uses support. so why would they now that they have it in a different form?

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 17:03:01)

using a average support can give crits just as easily. and whats the point of having infernal interdictor when nearly everyone is running around with massive strike? the indicator weapons are not op because they don't work well with certain stat abuse builds and that makes it balanced. just imagine if someone has got azrael's curse and they used the interdictor charm so how much crit do u expect to see? this suggestion is lets just say ineffective.

laguna blade -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 17:18:12)

Not support

classifiedname -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 17:37:31)

first i want to point out i never said it had to add massive strike or weapons skills at all..
as i said increases to stun, crit, melee damage, etc would be the things increased

whats the point? you can use another charm and have massive strike plus what ever the charm is.

im going to assume you mean azereal's bane which gives 5% chance to crit.... massive strike does not increase chance to crit it simply increases ignorance of defense during crits from 50% to 65% .. so i dont see an issue there. and the fact that people already crit alot with your undefined measure of "average" support doesn't pertain to your arguement at all. your assuming that everyone has the weapons to do 70 crits with their aux! and even if it doesnt have requirments, which i never said it couldnt ; but dont agree should, people will still be required to equip weapons your acting like the charm will replace people's primarys where they can just spam to 190 support.... honestly i want to know how much crit your expecting to see?!?

lastly, your contradictiung yourself. you said 5% chance for something to happen was significant and now you say its useless... so where do you stand on that?

King Helios -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 17:42:52)

Make it:

  • 1-3% for the event to happen
    - Event must be also modifiable by stats, e.x. Critical Chance (not Massive Strike)
    - Block chance of above 1% reserved for Celtic weapons
  • Max of 2 equippable at once
  • ~200 Var or 3,000 Credits

    And I may support it.

  • Fghuy9 -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 18:06:16)

    In my opinion, 5% is not OP at all. Seems pretty cool, maybe you could have one that has a 5% chance to take away 10 health from your enemy and give it to yourself.

    8x -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 19:00:05)

    Another piece of equipment that we would have to buy to stay on top, great...

    Not supported.

    classifiedname -> RE: Charms (10/22/2012 19:14:58)

    @8x

    aww come on dont be boring whats wrong with some new equipment to shake up the staleness of same old weapons?

    8x -> RE: Charms (10/23/2012 2:36:23)

    The problem is that we already have way too many stats which take the skill away from ED and making more items would just make the situation worst.

    classifiedname -> RE: Charms (10/23/2012 5:53:46)

    @8x

    please explain yourself. how would adding more items decrease the skills to use them?

    8x -> RE: Charms (10/23/2012 10:01:34)

    I meant the skills of the players and their experience on ED, not the actual class skills.

    laguna blade -> RE: Charms (10/23/2012 10:15:21)

    I agree with 8x

    classifiedname -> RE: Charms (10/23/2012 11:21:45)

    @ 8x

    i know thats what im asking you to explain...so let me rephrase the question .. how does having a new item take away from the skill required to play epicduel?

    8x -> RE: Charms (10/23/2012 11:54:06)

    If you have a lot of stats you can get enough defenses and dump everything else in strength and win battles, but if you don't have a lot of stats then you have to think about your strategy and use stats wisely. Now if you have an item that, lets say gives you +5% block chance, that equals to quite a lot of dexterity.

    classifiedname -> RE: Charms (10/23/2012 12:20:15)

    @8x

    then you would have to skilfully figure out a way to defeat your opponent other than just melee damage whats your point?

    Baydraze -> RE: Charms (10/23/2012 13:47:36)

    8x is right lol, @classifiedname, sorry bro, you're fighting a losing battle, this is never gonna work out for you. lulz just dont bother

    classifiedname -> RE: Charms (10/24/2012 5:09:43)

    yea i dont get 8x's point put oviously you all agree becuase hes 8x... ah well im done debating xD it wasd fun though

    8x -> RE: Charms (10/24/2012 9:09:49)

    Ok, I don't want to kill this thread, so here is a suggestion that wouldn't give people advantage in battles. What if the charms increased battle rewards?
    Examples:
    A charm that increases credit rewards by 3%.
    A charm that gives you 1 extra battle token per 3 battles.
    A charm that increases influence by 5%.
    A charm that turns into an achievement if you won 1000 battles while it was equipped.

    Reki -> RE: Charms (10/24/2012 9:30:23)

    Not supported for several reasons...BUT i do agree with the above post by 8x. Those types of 'effects' would be fine and then id support it. Aside from that not supported what so ever.

    Unknown Menace -> RE: Charms (10/24/2012 10:59:15)

    I support the thing that 8x suggested.

    quote:

    you all agree becuase hes 8x

    I don't support it for him being 8x i support it for being a clever idea. + we have plenty of luck factor's playing rolls in ED as it is.
    Really any of those suggestions are top notch i would probably use them all except for the influence thing because it only helps out your fac and i'm in it for me (jk ;P) .
