What do you think of these new features as of their Bad Consequences .
i have to start nagging about the stats thing being able to upgrade weapons to max lvl cause i sold my 2010 Halloween auxiliaries and many other items knowing that they were 5+ lvl outdated and so outdated in stats witch makes them useless , same with my delta staff and club the stats placement as of support with str made them useless to me so i sold them , not knowing that in omega ill be able to change the stat placements and it goes on and on with many other stuff ...

theholyfighter -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/7/2012 23:34:27)

That goes with other people as well, and selling it is your own choice. The devs didn't know about the Omega updates atm either, i think.

Vegafire -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/7/2012 23:38:30)

If your Suggesting they give all previos promo items back i do not support, you should not have sold them either way, and yes i made the same mistake, would love to have my Gama Bot/Bike back aswell as My stun Guns and Beta Weapons :P Dont know why i sold Gama Bot but the stun guns came outdated in stats and damage same with my beta gear and well i got the 10 year titan free and the Gama bike was sold :P

Mother1 -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/7/2012 23:39:48)

That is why you keep you old promo's rare items. You never know when they will come back in style. lucky for me I have all my old promos except for one so now all these items will have use again for me.

Vegafire -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/7/2012 23:42:26)

Only two i competely regret selling now are my stun guns and Gama bot, Gama bot is far superior in power and well the stun guns dont need explained. They Stunned, Now after omega i could have boosted them to 35 making them 35 damage + 10 from DA would be epic with the 5% stun chance or even switching to CH or BH and shadow arts would make them both instantly 15% stun chance once maxed

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/7/2012 23:44:33)

@above nope stun gun's stun chance stays at 5% and does not get boosted by shadow arts

Thylek Shran -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/8/2012 9:10:13)

Donīt like the announcement that NPCs will not reward xp and battle
tokens anymore. That means that players are forced to do PVP to
level up and that leveling up will take so much more time.

Frankly I do not believe that the power gap between paying players
and free players will be closed much if at all. Paying players will now
get their power from new weapon and armor effects like Omega Onslaught.

It would be nice if NPCs would still give xp but like 40% less.

Lord Machaar -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/8/2012 9:59:05)

Is it here yet to criticize it?

Just wait til' it comes and then say what ever you want.

Midnightsoul -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/8/2012 12:17:49)

Hi Sylar,

I'm sorry if you can't get your weapons back :(
I have the same feeling too, but you can look forward to some other great equipment that will soon be made from the ED team :)

Darius -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/8/2012 13:58:28)

I'm really loving the idea of equipping any item at any level regardless of previous requirements (barring class/gender,) but the idea of swapping abilities doesn't appeal to me. I've never bought any promo items with abilities, so everyone who has is already way above my power/skill level. I would love to get the Omega Onslaughter/Obliterator sets, but I haz no cash.

The change to NPCs is going to hinder my ability to level up, since I'm guaranteed to get lolpwnd every time I try to fight a human player, but then I'll simply disregard levelling and only fight NPCs to farm credits and buy gear. I've got my eye on those new Yetis, as long as they're not available only from the t-shirt promo, which they probably will be, knowing my luck.

Did you just say you sold your beta items? [8|]

I like most of the things that have been announced this far. Only thing that worries me is the enhancement revamp.

Darius -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/8/2012 14:14:37)

@^: I'm sure that whatever they decide to do with enhancements will be more beneficial than detrimental. As for if/how much we'll get compensated, I personally don't care.

RabbleFroth -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/9/2012 0:52:49)

On NPCs and experience, we'll be watching to see what happens, but we also wanted a way for players that are falling behind in PvP fights to be able to get the credits they need without having to continue leveling.

Right now, if you mess up and fall behind on Credits, you can never catch back up until you hit the level cap.

Vypie -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/9/2012 1:16:30)

You can always add an NPC that makes your character unable to receive exp. Each time you toggle between gaining exp or not, you would have to pay a small sum of money for his services.

The npc could apply a Neuro-shock to the brain, making the player unreceptive to new experience and learning.

It would have to stay for npcs only of course. Not gaining exp against players doesn't seem like a good idea. Someone could stall their EXP into a more favorable level to benefit from their build somehow, or receive first turn handicap for staying near the cap on purpose.

But this is just food for the thought.

I would still prefer to level with PvP only! It is more fun, and to be honest, more fair to other players. The more players leveling up through pvp, the faster battles are found! And i would not agree with a player easily leveling up without a single npc battle.

I, for example, leveled with pvp battles, and obviously it was easier to collect some losses. Players avoided losing because of their record, so they went to PvE. Now the game will be played as intended! :D

So technically Mr. Rabblefroth, if you don't get into PVP and you have raised the level cap, you will never reach that level, unless you get into PVP
till now that's good
but, in order to do that, you need to prepare a VERY VERY VERY VERY balanced environement to play in for all players in PVP, varuim or non varuim ones, in order to everyone have a chance of winning, unless, starting from Omega, if you raised the gap, and Non-varuim players wanted to go in PVPs to get some experience, they will be matched with OP varuim players leaving them no chance to get:
-Win
-Experience
-Level up

Conclusion: They will quit, or just fall back and farm until they die, to upgrade their items and buy new ones, in order to match up with other varuim players.

I hope you have considered this in your overall systeme changes!

Lycus -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/9/2012 9:16:44)

Just to comment on a few points raised here:
Weapon wise, if you sold them because they were 'useless' that is your own fault, we have always said that keeping hold of your rare items is something that you should do, if you sold them, it was completely your choice.

As for PvP, as has already said, we are concentrating on closing up the gap between free players and Varium players in terms of effort. The reason the change in NPC's is now you have the option which actually adds a lot more depth to the game, you can just PvP constantly and level up or you can earn credits to buy new gear to help towards keeping your weapons up to standards. Think of it like Pokemon, you can either go straight through the game catching a few new Pokemon and battling through the gyms, or you can train up in the wilds in between, making yourself much stronger, developing strategy and building up your levels/cash/stats, which allows you to move through the game much easier, but it takes a bit of extra time to do so.

This is the same, you can move through the game constantly PvP'ing to attempt to level up or you can go to the NPCs in between and build up your credits, which allows you to find a good working build, keep your weapons to the top level they can be, and allow you to have each type of weapon and an armour. Allowing you a higher win rate, better record and easier way through the game, but at the cost of a bit more time. The game is meant to be a PvP game, but you have the option to vary your game play to benefit you. So the choice is there for anyone to take!

kosmo -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/9/2012 9:51:53)

Im onestly afraid about the new stat sistem, if u can collocate ur stats wherever u wont, it will not be hard 2 do op build, abusing of support, strenght and EXPECIALY hp. Another fritening thing is the high probability of a massive copyng, i can copy the biuld of the guy that just powned me (even if im a nub and i dont have strategy) winning alot more. One of the solutions could be a BIG improove on agility

When? And is there a quote?

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/9/2012 16:39:26)

@sylar67 from a third party point of view it seems like you are just trying to play devils advocate with that "#owned" comment. It is not that they are buffing seasonal rares alone which is why they made that rule so I couldn't just buy the Carrierzooka and follow it's buffs up to Omega. Well that is a bad example because even now the Carrierzooka is a good weapon but it is the only rare I have.

So instead of just buffing the seasonal weapons when their season comes around they Dev's are "buffing" every weapon all at the same time with this system. So they are not favoring seasonal weapons or "Rares" by giving them annual buffs, they are allowing the players to buff every weapon this wish and how they wish to do it.

Xendran -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/10/2012 6:08:59)

Lycus explained it perfectly. Perhaps make only really hard npcs give exp?

midnight santa -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/10/2012 6:16:31)

Ballyhoo is "THE BEST" solution to this prob :)

Ballyhoo, that gives free credits, varium ,tokens and EXP :D

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/10/2012 20:33:39)

everything is already looking great in omega, enhancements are a advantage that you paid for, but omega is all about balance and fair gameplay with varium players still having a teeny weeny bit of advantage, so forgetting the past and look to the future is the best way to go.
also there is so much negativity about omega when it is not even released yet, who knows what wonderful surprises the devs might have for us in store. i remember sometime ago when the devs said that they are always for the benefit of the players experience over profit. so with this said, i expect everyone to wait and enjoy omega when it releases.

sylar67 -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/11/2012 13:36:23)

i like how you deleted my comment LYcus , why was that ? cause i showed the reality ?
you said you arent buffing anything so i sold them for being useless , now you say you told us not to sell rares .... why so ? why do we need them if they are useless after saying you arent buffing them ? please explain .

Nexus... -> RE: Omega #BadFeatures (12/11/2012 13:49:33)

@Lycus

I see what you are saying as far as selling rare gear, but really I don't think you are being fair at all. The developers have had a system in place for the last couple of years that let almost any weapon you purchased become outdated as the level cap was raised and new weapons with better stats were released. The was solidified by the decision not to buff seasonal rares. Many people sold rares, old items, and promos, to get better stated weapons, so that they could compete. It was the system the developers had in place, and as far as anyone knew it was never going to change. I suppose its easy for a Mod to say "you should have kept all your items" because, you literally get every item in the game and don't have to pay a cent (and rightly so?). Saying now that we "should have known to keep our rares" or "that is all on us" is a little bit snarky. Sure it was up to us to sell the rares, but we only did so because we never thought they would be useful in combat again, and could no longer compete with them...and yet here we are at Omega, and all of us who have ever sold a rare are feeling a little bit betrayed.

Rest of the update looks good, though in the end, it is all going to come down to the prices. If I ever have to pay for this game again in order to compete in PvP, I'm simply never going to play this game again.
