Hello! It's been a year since I've been last active around this parts, so as the title suggests, I'm starting things a new!

Here are some of my latest works:

The Voiceless

Primeval Ape

But wait! So, in true LK fashion, let me in on you on some lore about these two particular pieces.

*shamelessly copypasted from my Facebook post*

quote:

This is supposed to be a spinoff series taking place in the same world as my La Pucelle novel, but takes place both in the ancient past and the present. The protagonist is a revenant called "The Voiceless" who seeks her true identity by venturing back and forth through time distortions into Alborea's murky past. This is also supposedly more "fantasy"-oriented than La Pucelle in that magic has a heavier emphasis.

If it isn't obvious yet, this is heavily inspired by the Souls series, particularly Dark Souls, and to make that point even further, here's some music to set the mood!

Would you look who's back...!

My friend, you just made my day by returning after so long.

As always, your artworks look fantastic even though I have no idea what medium you use.

Would you like a banner for your gallery...?

lordkaho -> RE: LK's Gallery-"Random Concept Art" (7/7/2014 20:40:14)

^That would be great Arthur. Nothing too flashy though.

As for my medium, you could say that this is technically digital art as most of the effects you see here were produced by photoshop. However, it still started out as a pencil sketch.

Lupus the Wolf -> RE: LK's Gallery-"Random Concept Art" (7/7/2014 23:30:19)

Welcome back Lordkahooooooooooooooo I missed your art

Really nice drawings. I really like lighting in "The Voiceless"

Mortarion -> RE: LK's Gallery-"Random Concept Art" (7/8/2014 0:53:27)

Welcome back Kaho, as always very nice art. Since I am no artist, I can't comment on the more technical aspects without surely making a mistake but I can really feel the Dark Souls vibe, The Voiceless has the vibe of an undead hero (what with her bloodstained and ragged robes and the torch she is carrying) while the Primeval Ape seems to have taken more of an inspiration from Manus and the Abyss in general, specifically Manus.

lordkaho -> RE: LK's Gallery-"Random Concept Art" (7/8/2014 1:16:22)

"Primeval Ape" is such a blatant cue to Manus that I'll change it once I find a better name to call them, haha.

The Voiceless is actually based on Dusk of Oolacile and the Milfanito, with features inspired from the Witch of Izalith and Ingward.

Mortarion -> RE: LK's Gallery-"Random Concept Art" (7/8/2014 1:59:29)

Ahhh, I see my Dark Souls lore is a bit rusty. But nevertheless, I think both pieces are pretty good and yeah, a name of change might be in order but I can't complain, I am terrible at making original names hahaha. Anyways, keep the good work and I hope to see more pieces from you soon

Razen -> RE: LK's Gallery-"Random Concept Art" (7/8/2014 10:11:57)

I can definitely see the features inspired from the Witch of Izalith and Ingward. I'd even say that I can see some Gwyndolin in there alongside Dusk of Oolacile and the Milfanito. The primeval ape is rather too obvious as well, I will concur. They both look great though.

I'm making a new design as I type this. It's more baboon-like now, because baboons are badass.

Razen -> RE: LK's Gallery-"Random Concept Art" (7/8/2014 10:20:07)

...There are many ways to interpret that, LK. [:D]

Arthur -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/8/2014 13:25:51)

How's this...?

Ta-da...!!

lordkaho -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/8/2014 20:35:55)

Hey, thanks man. I'll use this with pride.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/13/2014 16:05:48)

I see that you still haven't lost your touch, lordkaho. I prefer "TheVoiceless" as it reminds me of the apparition of a nun originally part of your inquisition and now haunts its catacombs.

salene -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/13/2014 16:47:22)

That is spectacular. I don't usually hang out around here, but because of this I may start checking back more regularly [:D]

lordkaho -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/16/2014 13:43:57)

quote:

"...and our naive ancestors thought they could destroy the Old Men. Disfiguring the enemies' perfect bodies into loathsome shapes was what they did, through the use of old, dark magicks. However, they did so at the cost of their humanity."

The Ancient Sorceror, the Father of Curses

-=Music=-

So, this is the 'person' supposedly based on Manus. The ape above is just somewhat of a random mook. Anyway, to add some little history on this character, he is apparently a leader of ancient humans who rebelled against their alien masters. He and his mightiest magicians conjured powerful curses that turned the fairy-like Old Men into bloated and twisted monstrosities as a way to suppress their reality warping powers. However, as dark magic always is, the curses bite the humans back hard.

Oh and you might notice that he shares some resemblance to one of my old creations, Zeiger(?) the Crow monster. First, it's semi-intended as I really liked the design of his head, but second, the ancient sorcerer's head is supposed to mimic a tribal shaman's headdress.

Arthur -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/16/2014 14:22:34)

Amazing. Just amazing. I dunno what else to say.

Btw, I still love your rendition of my character Marc Aldriem.

Mortarion -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/16/2014 23:01:46)

I agree with Arthur, it's simply amazing

lordkaho -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/17/2014 0:35:47)

Thanks! :D

Marc Aldriem? Who was that again? I'm sorry I haven't been using my old photobucket account in ages so I can't remember past requests.

What do you think of the character, Mort?

Arthur -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/17/2014 0:57:03)

Marc Aldriem was the guy with the short black hair and the clerical coat on top of high wanderer boots and a blade on his back.

Mortarion -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/21/2014 23:23:18)

Hmm, well the character for me evokes a somewhat shamanistic look, the head that is similar to a raven (slightly), and some sort of triumphant conqueror due to the various crumbling columns with a bit of a predator in-waiting for it's next prey due to the somewhat feral posture in which it is along with it's animalistic features (again the raven-esque head and the tails it has) The hands remind me of humanity and are the biggest connection the creature depicted has to it's human roots.

Well, I hope this makes sense :) sorry if it sounds like ramblings, I am not a good critique of art and I tend to ramble a lot normally

lordkaho -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/22/2014 1:03:08)

He makes such a feral stance because he has lost all his humanity. He is nothing but a savage ape at this point.

7/22/14 update:

Thomas Macabee

Descript: A reclusive historian who's made quite an obsession studying ancient female heroines called "Maidens". He will be the deuteragonist alongside The Voiceless.

and the three saints

The Knightess

The Priestess

The Cleric

Their identities are a spoiler for now, but you can tell from their wounds on what fate they had met. Saints are revenants or phantoms similar to the Voiceless, but the latter has the ability to draw upon or summon others like her through the bright flames of her strange torch. Since the Voiceless is weak and has no power to defend herself, she will rely on these phantoms to aid her in her quest, kind of like pokemon but with undead. These three by the way will be the first amongst many of other phantoms that she gets to summon.

Mortarion -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (7/22/2014 6:03:38)

Ahhh, I see. Sorry then, I misunderstood the concept behind the art

lordkaho -> RE: The Mad Librarian's Atelier-"Renaissance" (8/4/2014 2:58:07)

*baleeted*
