Some have mentioned that it's not fair to the non-Varium players to restrict this tournament, but the tournament is a special reward for the preorder offer and making it available to everyone would defeat the purpose. I concede that the way it is worded implies pretty strongly that it's only for preorder, but its far from a promise. There's a distinction between being available to "everyone" would defeat the purpose, and being available to preorders only defeating the purpose. As far as it being a "special reward," that could merely being in reference to the fact that we don't have to buy it. And you keep complaining about so-called false advertising even though that fateful sentence was uttered probably a week or two after you bought your preorder ticket. When buying a ticket, it is not "advertised" that the golden ticket is only available via pre-order. I really just think it could've been worded better to avert that expectation, and the ultimate reasoning for offering a few for direct purchase is pretty sound. quote:
We are doing this to accomodate those who either cannot afford / don't want a preorder but want to participate or were not informed about the event in advance for whatever reason. Also, Omega will be advertised heavily and many will be coming to EpicDuel for the first time ever , and many others will be returning after a long hiatus and it would be good to offer one last chance to get in. In summary, there was no solid, direct promise that exclusively pre-orderers would receive the ticket. In fact the original Dec. 20 release DN seemed to imply the exact opposite, that there absolutely would be golden tickets available after the pre-order. quote:
When you buy this package you will receive a ticket that will guarantee you receive the items as soon as Omega officially goes live in January. After Omega goes live, we will split the Obliterator and Onslaughter into 2 separate packages as planned, but those who preordered will already have it all and be able to participate in the competition without delay! If the intent was it would be exclusively for pre-orderers, why use the word already? Really people, why do we have to gripe about every single decision the devs make? Why can't we think of players in a different situation then us? A lot of players already have as much varium as they want and wouldn't pay $50 just to be allowed to enter the tournament. Also like Titan says, there are old-timers returning from long time hiatuses who should have a chance to get in. It has not been advertised as exclusively preorder, we were not promised that in any way, and the statement in question clearly did not have that intended meaning.
