Hold your horses forumites.

The discussion of "false-advertisement" needs to stop here. Believe me, from someone who visited the devs last month, who's been great friends and worked with them for over a year and a half, this is the very least from false advertising. Please, get back on topic, if you want to discuss otherwise take it off forum or keep it in PM's.

The Astral Fury -> RE: =ED= A Classy Update - January 24, 2013 (1/28/2013 23:12:41)

So if the new base armors can be bought and equiped like a regular armor, can you purchase a teach mage armor if your a merc and equip it, or can you buy a merc base armor if your a BH, or do you have to be that class in order to buy that base armor?

Post edited. Discussion of "false-advertising" stops as mention by Practel. Don't bring it up again. ~Mecha

^^

One major change we want to bring to the game is greater freedom of choice in gear. Currently your choices are severely limited by the level and stat requirements on gear. If your level is too low, you simply can't equip the item. If your level is too high, the item isn't useful enough. If the item has odd stat requirements, you either can't use it or you have to alter your build to equip it.

In Omega, these requirements are going away entirely. You can buy and equip any item at any level, and there will be no stat requirements to prevent you from equipping anything. The only requirements that will remain are gender and class for class-specific items.

Taken from the first Omega DN's.

EDIT: Hah, guess I forgot to bold it.

That's not what his asking to let you know.

In ur quote where does it says something about this? it only says stuff that he already knows, hes asking another thing.
Where does it says that you can buy a merc base armor as a BH?

No, This:

do you have to be that class in order to buy that base armor?

We don't know or I haven't read where does it says that the new base armors are going to work like a normal equipable armors, and we also don't know if these base armors are going to be sellable or you get them for free.

IM sure he already knows all of this:

His question is about the new base armors.

Vypie -> RE: =ED= A Classy Update - January 24, 2013 (1/28/2013 23:43:14)

Well, I'm sure the base armors will be class-restricted. It would not make sense, and cause confusion. Specially among new players, considering it's even a starter armor.
We should know from the start if we are fighting a Hunter, Merc, or Mage.

The armors have a theme between them that do not match the representation and concept of other classes. The armors even vary in the body shape/size, relative to the body type of class.
It would look weird, in the least.

Yeah, Also I can't find yet where does it says that the new base armors are going to be buyable or equipable like a real armor, they only told us that the current base armor is going to work as a normal armor. GtG anyway.
