LatinLover/Martini -> No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:36:48)

Well my friend, H0N0R (PRIMAL ASSASSIN) Brought up a very good point... if you really think about it.. almost everything is already balanced in games. Variums can be defeated by skilled non variums. And most classes are equal right now.. Do you think we really need the new core system or is just fine the way it is?

Hard boy -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:41:30)

the problem lies in the "most classes" not all classes

_i_am_a_helper_ -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:42:05)

Well it'll be more balanced if non variums can buy "varium" weapons with credits and if they can have cores.
The game itself is okay, but Blood Mages right now are killing everyone

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:43:03)

Not exactly. If you really zero in on other builds while you roam 80% fo those with the ability to nerf them using intimidate are using it. That plus a bio borg or a def boost kills them easily.

the final hour -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:44:28)

sorry i dont want to sound like im disagreeing with every post ur making but things are not balanced now lol . we have strengh builds running around rolling on 141 strengh and such . 5 focus tanks with IA doing massive damage. the insane mass BL smoke combo on BHes . the BM class needs overhauling. 2 of the modes r completely screwed jugger and 2v2 . your hard pressed to find a fair fight in either . and i think the last time a non varium killed me was beta. i could go on but i think ive made my point.i should point out on the non varium note im talking about in 1v1 . i dnt count a non varium beating me when theirs 2 of em in 2v2 and my partner is either worthless or runs ...

Are you being completely serious right now?

Angels Holocaust -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:52:52)

What began as a whisper, has now swelled to a chorus that cannot be ignored, that will not be deterred, that will ring out across this game as a hymn that will heal ED, repair the reputation of this game, make this time different than all the rest.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for, we are the change that we seek.

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:52:59)

Cores will not do much of anything. Its like enhancements without numbers its not changing the classes they will be the same just with enhancements just as before. I dont know, personal opinion.

the final hour -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:56:10)

^ strengh builds will not be as effective due to the changes to hp and ep 1 point = 1 health 1 mana . the loss of enhancements too too get their strengh to high they are going to have to sacrifice hp and defence urgo die. so the abuse builds shod stop . also bhes will not be able to roll on 120 hp have enough mana to smoke and mass and have insane strengh , it will help alot .many of the insanely over powered builds will be no longer possible in omega it will no longer be pile ya points in one stat and click to win . people will have to really think to win . and then it still wont be guarenteed the way it shod be

Rayman -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 17:56:11)

Actually, who says you need cores to do 1v1? you can own all the people that uses Skill cores without even using a single core.
It is fine the way it is, but core can make the game even more fun.

and then...

Wild experienced skilled varium player appeared.

Anyway, the core system & etc was not made ONLY for balance, it has got other purposes such as making "changes and creations quicker". [>:]
Or, another example, to get rid of the boring restrictions.

You can't stat abuse anymore

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:06:54)

Indeed you can, new stat system allows you to change stats anyway that you want. Allowing stat abuse

ND Mallet -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:08:27)

@latin There is a cap on how many points you can put into a single stat. Plus health is getting nerfed so you need to invest more points into it to get as much health as before Omega.

Stabilis -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:11:25)

As long as I do not see a single article in the game as overpowered then "workable" balance can exist.

This applies differently to other people though.

Lycan. -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:19:57)

@latin

Acctually no, the maximum stat on one stat is 40% so you can't stat abuse.

Mother1 -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:36:50)

@ lycan

So basically even when we can change items and stat on an item we can't fully change it how we want. Sounds like contradiction if you ask me when they said we can make an item how we want it. The fact that they are making it so there are limits on how much we can pour into any one stat is the proof right there. If it was truly the way we wanted we could pour all the points of an item into one stat if we so please because wouldn't that be what we want if we wanted to do so?

The problem is that they will have the same fuction as enhancements.
This does mean that there still will be unfair power gaps. Something
that the devs wanted to remove. So the old pattern will remain.
Cores are enhancements in a new dress.

I think Omega is mostly there for more customization which contains
the dressup element as in AQW. Just not that excessive and inflational.
The changes are definetly needed because the whole game code has
been overhauled and restructured into important moduls to ensure
further evolution and more balance capabilities.

Lycan. -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:42:49)

@Mother1

Item Customization
Go to 1:30

ND Mallet -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:44:04)

@mother I don't recall them ever stating we'd get full customization of stats on weapons. Even from the beginning I recall them stating you wouldn't get full customization on items.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:47:10)

So the point of this thread is that everything is fine right now and we shouldn't even try to change anything or experiment with new ways to fix this games long time issues?

Okay, yeah. Tell the dev's. Call off Omega. Everything's fine right now. APPARENTLY the classes and skills are all balanced and the varium/nonvarium gap isn't a problem.

THAT would explain why 90% of the people in 1v1 are either 5 focus blood mages with infernal android, or high strength, high HP bounty hunters with level 7+ massacre.

Clearly all builds, styles, and classes work equally.

Mother1 -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:49:59)

@ Lycan and ND Mallet

Then why do they have at on the front page with the shifting messages saying "arrange the stats how YOU want on all items?" Answer me that one? Enhancements as they are now can be arranged how we want since we don't have these limiters on them like they are putting on our items in omega.

Lycan. -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:50:41)

@Giras
^no but maybe call off the Golden Yeti Competition AFTER Omega so we can experiment with the new battle system and get used to it.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:52:54)

So, Mother1, you are arguing that players should be allowed to have +70 str boost from their equipment? Regardless of if their wording in the past kinda-sorta implied that, its obviously a bad idea. Any build can be made just fine with a 40/40/20 spread. You'll just have to worry a little more about how you allocate BASE stats, and players will, you know, have to give up Focus if they want an insane stat which was the whole and entire point of focus in the first place.

Now this is assuming stat requirements on weapons and skills will be removed. If they're not, we're going to have a problem.

xGreen Warriorx -> RE: No Need For Change? (1/27/2013 18:53:54)

I haven't read any posts in this thread besides the first one, but I just want to say that there isn't much point in this discussion, because the "change" (aka most of what Omega is about) is basically finished being developed.

I think this new system will be a good thing. Better balance between var and non-var, and more build flexibility and opportunity.

Glad I'm not alone in thinking this.
