DeathOnArrival. -> The New System (1/28/2013 18:13:10)

Dont you guys think the ability to have passives and actives on every items you equip will be o.p? like think about it, you will be able to use the platinums fury, and other actives that could be really op. I am just saying some people will be using possibly 4 actives a game and lets say the have a curse on their armor, you can become small and than at the same time get frosted losing 5 energy per turn. I am just saying it might be a little unreasonable.

FishNoobCrack -> RE: The New System (1/28/2013 18:16:28)

...Rare abilities CANNOT be equipped.

Lycan. -> RE: The New System (1/28/2013 18:17:36)

I don't think it will be op because most people will have it, it's like full gear.
Although 8 skill cores sounds like alot it will give alot more flexibility to the game :D

Mother1 -> RE: The New System (1/28/2013 18:39:24)

The staff said that certain items wouldn't be able to have their cores removed for the soul purpose of them keeping their identities. So hopefully that will make it so certain item cores can't be removed either for the sake of this. Otherwise overpowered city hear we come and the nerfing process will happen yet again.

Wootz -> RE: The New System (1/28/2013 18:47:09)

As far as I'm concerned the new battle engine has a far superior number of variables that determine the course of the battle, leading to people actually using their heads rather then copying over-powered builds, which will lead them to eventually being over their head when making their own builds. Which is most likely to happen during the Omega release for which I'm glad to. People who used their own heads will find this new system to be far more better, customizable and strategic then before. And will have no problem in making a build, others...they will have to adapt.

And I cannot really find this OPd. I don't think they will somehow screw up balance with stronger cores. For example, every item having a passive and active core about critical hit modifications. That is what I would abuse. :)

Wrathchild -> RE: The New System (1/29/2013 14:04:43)

Cores would be new enchancements, if you see there, passive cores works like if you focus all enchancements in one point, because there is Block Chance % (Dexterity), Deflect Chance and Power %(Technology) and Crit chance % (Support), But that is good, because you dont put points on Tech (For an example) so it wouldnt boost a Tech Move (Like Bunker Buster)

JariTheMighty -> RE: The New System (1/29/2013 14:15:25)

Being powerful is relative. If everyone is equally "OP", no one actually is.

caser5 -> RE: The New System (1/29/2013 17:18:48)

Sample System Photo

This looks uber complicated; leading to an eventual understanding and/or a separation of the men from the boys. (or that's at least what it seems to be)

Cyberbeast10 -> RE: The New System (1/29/2013 17:33:30)

I can sympathize with the original poster's sentiments, however, this is the sort of thing we'll have to wait to find out. The ability to carry so many passives and actives will lead to some pretty borderline-broken builds (Critical % spam for example). However, since everyone will have access to them, we have no choice but to see if everything will balance itself out or not, depending on what cores we have.

i can see that causing a issue with the rare game changing cores in its selve. if you have it your going to have a advantage .

Banir -> RE: The New System (1/29/2013 18:12:10)

@caser5 It's not that complicated after you look at it for a little bit. The bottom row is where all your skills go, as always. Then the top is sorted like: Sidearm attack then its 2 cores, same for Aux. The next 2 (Lucky Strike and that meteor looking one) are for the primary, then robot attacks, and finally Armor cores. They're all sorted nicely, I think.

The absence of booster slots is bugging me though...

Giras Wolfe -> RE: The New System (1/30/2013 19:19:39)

I predict low energy, passive skill-focused builds that take advantage of cores will reign supreme.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: The New System (1/30/2013 20:01:25)

no it will not be OP, because unlike enhancements or varium weapons with extra stats, anyone can get a full set or skill cores as long as they have enough credits or varium, the price will not be as ridiculous as enhancements, that's another plus. the main purpose is for you to mix and match skill cores to suit your liking and assist you in battle, if you keep losing even if you got a full set of skill cores, then it must mean that either you got a bad combination of skills/stats/skill cores or you just don't know how to play the game.
