beastmo -> Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:09:04)

Is omega really the future of epicduel?
Is removing npc wins the right idea? Will it satisfy players?
Will records even matter in omega? Will non vars finally have the chance to win more battles because of credit upgrading?
Will players buy as much varium because of credit upgrades? People will only buy varium for promo.
Will omega ever even come?
These are all questions I see everyday that people ask? I feel like that these questions need to be discussed.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: New question. How do you think builds will work in omega?

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:12:08)

very good questions u have beastmo. But as for me, to it will be premature to answer all this because Omega is not yet released.

ED Prince of Shadows -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:16:51)

1. Yes, it is a completely revolutionary change to ED that will overhaul balance and build variety.
2. Yes, because even though many will be upset, you can farm NPCs for easy credits. It also makes win records more based on actual battles than the easy NPC wins.
3. Records will mater more because they are legit due to the lack of NPC wins.
4. The devs know what they're doing, they will give good advantages and make varium a quick short cut.
5. It is coming very soon, that is clear.
6. These are my thoughts.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:25:59)

it is better than what we have in delta.

not sure about this as some of the old timers will have thousands of wins on their records from previous phases and prolly avoid 1v1 due to the lack of being able to beat some1 who thinks for their selve .

and too new players their awesome 1v1 records will appear amazing since they wont be aware that theyd got most of thoose wins from previous phases on the npcs.

beastmo -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:40:45)

I was all for npc removal. But now I think removing npcs will remove will anger players.

Mother1 -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:44:52)

@ beastmo

Only those who used them to get near perfect 1 vs 1 records or the extremely over-competitive players who like free win punching bags.

Sipping Cider -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:47:17)

I am very glad NPC wins wont count on record anymore. Besides actually fighting a person, there is no real way to tell how good they are at dueling currently, and even with NPCs no longer counting so many records are already tainted with NPC wins.

Omega is definately a step in the right direction for battle records, next we will just need a way to factor out the wins already won by NPCs.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:49:01)

Obviously. Whether its good or bad, it will be implemented.

Yes. We will not be forced to fight non-real enemies to compete with other people who fight non real enemies.

Absolutely. They will matter much more now that NPCs don't count.

Per person, we will all buy less. But overall the game will make more money due to a larger more balanced player base.

Yes.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:53:44)

Removing npcs was not the problem, it was the losses on the character page.

KEzAx -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 20:55:52)

id rather what we have in delta with all the enhancements and stuff. but the npc idea is great, i really hate people who farm npc and then they win 1v1 champs.

beastmo -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 21:09:38)

@mother1. My record sucks and yet I still want npc wins to count.

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 21:44:50)

At this point, I honestly just want my Omega weapons, that is all...

King FrostLich -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 21:45:32)

All I need are compensation, skill cores and credits.

Current records will be diluted in a year or two to really reflect skill. I'm an "old timer" and always found NPCs boring, but it really doesn't matter at this point whether someone wants to fight NPCs or real players because players are the ones that count.

the final hour -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 21:59:45)

people will still spend alot of time npcing thoose who want to compete but dnt want to buy varium . i dont think the npcs will be lonely in omega

beastmo -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 22:07:40)

The thing is this isn't just about npcs. Its about omega overall.
Omega could be the downfall of this game.

the final hour -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 22:16:58)

i think omega will only be the downfall of the game , if it turns out after all this waiting that the gap between var and none var has not been bridged . if that was to be the case i think ED would be in serious trouble.

The Astral Fury -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 22:21:49)

A nice guess tells me that Omega will be better than Delta and since Delta wasn't the downfall then Omega can't possibility be it if it's better right. Will have to see though from the DN's and what the dev's tell us they make Omega to be a blissful utopia full a wonders that this will be the rebirth of ED, the best phase in ED hisotry and it very we'll could be or maybe not, but from what I see it's looking really great!

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 22:26:44)

I am really unhappy with how the game is now. The number of successful builds is limited and some classes have none. There are too many restrictions on good strategy, including the cost of buying weapons with different stats to try a new build. Omega will fix a lot of that. It will make it so players are not forced to buy a new weapon if they want to try a different strategy. Also, cores should add a new dynamic to gameplay.

beastmo -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 22:29:54)

Looks can be deceiving. ;).

@giras. You do know they will probably make a rare overpowering skill core in a promo. Just to earn money.

xxmirxx -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 22:37:54)

removing npc is the problem for me Idk if I want good stats I am not in shame of saying that why should I or anyone else to that matter should feel shame what we do.

EpicCoconut -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 22:39:46)

NPCs won't be removed, only NPC battles no longer count in the records. You'll still get credits/exp and you can do so continously b/c they'll take down the 15 per hr limit.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Is omega really what we want? (1/30/2013 23:06:39)

@Epic

No, u will only get credits, nothing else ...
