Some weapons come with skill cores auto-locked to them. (stun guns, azrael, omega, etc)
How about instead of these cores being locked to these specific items, they be their default cores?
My thought process behind this is if your azrael gun doesn't have any core placed in it, then it will automatically have the core ability for azrael's will for example. But if you wanted to, you could place the energy shot core in the core slot and replace the ability. To get your default core back, there would simply be a "remove core" option.

Certain items have cores locked to them to keep their identity. The Stun Guns wouldn't be the Stun Guns if every gun could stun. It also will screw up strategy since someone could go into a battle with an ordinary gun and then suddenly it's actually Azrael gear

You have my idea wrong. I'm saying items with special cores would be the only items that would have those cores, but you could replace those cores.
For an example, the stun guns would have the stun core in them, but if you wanted, you could replace it.

too much coding for something I don't think many people would care about. if you wanted a different type of gun then you could just as easily buy a different type of gun.

This wouldn't just be restricted to guns. What about the weapons from the infernal war? The rare guns, knives, staffs, swords, and clubs, all locked to the cores of dealing damage to the infernal vault, but are now rendered useless? People may still want to show off their rares, but the negative side to it is it takes up a valuable core slot.

Supported and I also would like "Replacing Cores" to be changed a little meaning once you replace a core it doesn't generally delete it you can use it for another weapon so you don't waste credits & varuim.
