More Polls (Full Version)

Exploding Penguin -> More Polls (10/6/2013 2:00:42)

So there hasn't been a poll in ages, and I'm thinking that these polls could really help the staff determine what the public views as wrong with ED. Some polls that I'd suggest are:

-Which skill of (class name) is the most useless/unusable?
-Which skill of (class name) is the one you always put stat points into, no matter your build?
-Which stat do you typically invest the most in on all your builds?
-Do you think that investing more than 15 points into energy is worth it on many builds?
-Has ED's community dwindled, or do you still meet and talk with people in-game often?

Oh, and here's a big debate-raiser:

-Which do you prefer more; Epicduel Omega or Epicduel Delta?

True, It have been a while since we don't get a new poll, I think that they can get 1 Poll done for this friday, Maybe they can add the 1st Double Poll?

yeah. they should make a thread for poll suggestion and get a new one like each week.
perhaps an achievement for someone with 5+ recommended polls that are used in game?

we should really take more advantage of it though

...I think the point of polls would be to get more feedback, without necessarily having to post your view to justify it - especially for those who may struggle with English, or newer players, etc. Not achievements.

There could be an evolving achievement for those who have voted x amount of times, too! To encourage people to vote every week.

i never said the purpose was achievements

weapons aren't for achievements, suggesting them, and letting them be used may also provide one.
thats why i made it 5, not one, so its not just a given, but a rather rare thing.

i do think its fair that that anyone from the player base who provides something tangible for devs to use in game, (if they choose to use it), they get a little something in game.

i never suggested how much it is worth, frankly, it could be worth 0-1 point
i dont collect cheevos for the stars, but ratehr casue it looks good to see how involved you have been with ED since it has begun.

so you think, they underwent the process of including a poll system, was ot recieve very little feedback (one every 3 months) that is quite possibly, nad very easily biased?

Polls are a good way to get some feedback, just like written feedback is. :| I have not said it's a perfect way and unbiased.

The feedback is not used fully when making changes - not everyone is right and opinion is an opinion, unless backed up with data, it's a mere opinion that's likely to be biased. Charfade has posted before, that many changes are not done (i.e. balance) because given suggestions are possibly biased.

My point is, why should you be awarded any cheevos for choosing an option to vote? People would just pick anything just to get cheevos.

The purpose of polls is to gather feedback, not an easy way to get cheevos. If you don't want to vote or feel as if cheevos would give you an incentive to vote, just don't vote at all - it's your opinion not being raised up, and you decide not to share it. Giving incentive to post feedback sounds absurd as it is. If you won't give it, the Devs will live but don't get angry if a change is carried out and you wanted something else - in the end, it'd be you (as a player) who hasn't shared their feedback.

I've kinda repeated myself too.

oh i think you misunderstood me:
i never said you should get an achievement for answering a poll:
i said you should get it if you suggest 5 poll questions that are used in game, because the devs actually find them useful. :P

Although, wouldn't Devs only create polls when they need feedback fast (when necessary)?

perhaps, although the last few times they did it, they left it ingame for like amonth... which didnt seem too efficitn for me... :$ you may be right; ive never heard that side of the story before.
