ShadowWraith -> ED Community? (12/20/2013 15:47:01)

Does ED even really have a community anymore? Most matches are silent, the forums here are pretty much dead, and the older player base is almost completely gone.

Just something I was wondering about. We have a few active posters on the forums here, but aside from that there is absolutely nothing.

I believe that the Epic Duel community is closer than the other AE communities.While it's true that some of the older guys have left, they've been replaced more or less by new forumnites. The forums may not be as lively as they used to be, and I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

Back in the day, 2 years ago, there used to be what I call forum riots. It wasn't good lol. But what I like about our community is that everyone knows each other.

One disadvantage of that can be seen though. There are a lot of ad hominem style posts out there on the balance section and whatnot.

Regardless, Epic Duel definitely DOES have a community right now, it's just different than what it used to be.

It does have a community but its about 5x smaller than it was a few years. I personally loved those "forum riots", they were entertaining lol.

I prefer the older one. Cho.

You should have seen it back in the Old ED forums when it wasn't joined with artix. Sigh* The good old forum days. [:D]

I don't even wanna think about that at this point skeletondude. It just irritates me lol.[:@]

ShadowWraith -> RE: ED Community? (12/21/2013 12:27:07)

I was active on the old ED Forums, it was amazing. There were active posters, lots of conversations, and great fun. Then they merged ED Forums into the AEF and some players didn't move, some did, and others made smaller spin-off forums.

IMO, if we hadn't merged the forums the ED Community wouldn't have fragmented as it has. We have a tiny community currently. Most of the players I meet online don't speak English at all.

CN2025 -> RE: ED Community? (12/22/2013 21:14:04)

@ above is that a bad thing?

ShadowWraith -> RE: ED Community? (12/22/2013 21:31:47)

@CN2025

I would think so, because this fragmentation lost ED a large amount of its older playerbase. Though I wasn't around, I heard it got better during the Infernal War in Delta, but the players disappeared again in Omega due to something. AE also said they would leave the forums up on a read-only mode due to the tons of information on the forums. For example, before the wiki, there was a thread documenting all of the wrist blades in the game with stats, pictures, and where to buy it.

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: ED Community? (12/22/2013 22:32:48)

I feel as though I try to make my own community of friends...

Jekyll -> RE: ED Community? (12/22/2013 23:45:45)

Community? Not even close, especially when I was mocked for using a "slow and bad" but UNIQUE build with a good win rate. Can't say anything here, but I have details on Twitter.

The Joker X -> RE: ED Community? (12/23/2013 18:14:46)

Ah the old forums... good times... I used to be very active on it back in the day. They were very entertaining to read and post on.
