Hey guys, Toopy here!
quick word in advance to devs/mods. This thread was not started to advertise a faction, but to rather bring all forumites together in the game. i would have posted in the factions area, however as far as i know, very few people know it even exists and it would never be seen there. Instead of having it deleted i would rather work on a way of letting people it targets see it clearly in some part of the forum, except advertising is also not allowed. I wish to adhere to your rules and hope i break none of them with this post.
So, here is the idea: we make a faction for all the members on the forum to be in together.
The reason it is posted here is because this has not yet been created and i hope to achieve a number of things advance before creation.
i am aware a lot of us have different opinions on a lot of in-game details and we can respect each other. However you must know that sometimes while playing i will get into an argument or something on the forum and completely neglect the game, as i have much more fun talking to you guys then just playing the game. its not just the physics which make ED special, but the community. Finding some of oyu in the game is hard, and it is a rare moment when we cget excited like "oh its you! hey!" and all that, so i thought that this could be a good iea. also, i know a lot of you are active in game and on here so keeping in touch would be a lot easier.
a few of you, i have talked to in PM previously and i find all of you brilliant players in some way or another. we all have different strengths.
so what i would hope to achieve with this completely hypothetical faction (as of now) is to decide on a number of factors before having it come into play, after which this thread would be advertisement and after that, it should be removed by all means.
Im not sure of numbers of how many want to join, so if you want in, just add your name to the thread, and join the discussion. i have the following questions to ask from anyone who is interested:
Who should be the leader?
although the idea is mine, i cannot claim to be the most active, or reliable or best, and i feel the honor should be bestowed upon someone else. instead of volunteers, i do vote we go on a nomination basis for a week, and then decide
Who should be the officers?
again more nominations, or the alternate, is that beyond a leader, we are all equals and so 1 leader and the rest are all members, or we can go simply by influence points.
What should be the name?
taking offers, and adding them to a list: we can vote on a faction name together and decide.
What would be the conditions of admission to our faction?
forum activity? friendship? i dont want to just recruit players and get into top rankings. it would mean nothing to me if it werent with people i want to play with.
these are it for now. i am super excited though to see how this turns out guys! i hope i can see you all in-game!
