Fortune City Countdown
[image]http://www.epicduel.com/images/cms/EpicDuelFortuneWar_dns.jpg[/image]
The War between the Legion and Exile forces resumes this Saturday as the countdown to the next War closes in on 0. This War will take place in the capital of Delta V, Fortune City. Fortune City is currently powered by an Energy Core in Alydriah's Spire. Rather than destroying the Core, the Attackers are determined to drain the Core to fuel their own war efforts using Sappers located around the city. The defenders will defend the core by destroying the Sappers. The citizens of Fortune City will follow whomever can keep the lights on. Will the Legion reign, or will the Exiles unseat the Legion from their lofty perch in Fortune City?

Fortune City Countdown
As you can see, the cooldown timer continues to tick by and the next War is very near. The text war region, Fortune City, will be open for contention early Saturday morning. This means a new chance for War Hero, leaderboard domination, and building regional Influence in Fortune City.

Remember, once the Fortune City War goes live, you will no longer be able to claim Dread Prizes. If you haven't claimed a prize yet, or purchased one that caught your fancy, you've only hours left to do so.

Dread Plains Champions
Before the next War begins, we'd like to commemorate the leaders of the previous war. Will they be major players in the next War? Do you have what it takes to dominate ALL the regions?

Variation -> RE: May 1st, 2014 - Fortune City Countdown (5/1/2014 19:25:18)

I hope Mecha Mario was right and Legion gets to defend. If the influence rate for bombs is the same as the Dread Plains War defenders will get better consistent damage which Legion obviously needs. When I was in the fire zone in the Dread Plains I constantly saw a lot of low level Legions using the turret that dealt the least damage, at least if they were defenders they would get the same damage from all bombs(the damage of super bombs would be higher). It's also quite obvious to those who can interpret visual data(just look around) that Exile has more active higher levels. So what that means if Legion even has somewhat of a chance to win we would need an efficient reinforcement system.

I predict that Legion will lose and according to Nightwraith:"The citizens of Fortune City will follow whomever can keep the lights on," if my assumption is right we can say goodbye to almost all of the Legion npcs (they would be Exile). The developers are known for working magic on wars to change the outcomes, so maybe they'll shock us and let Legion win.

Happy dueling!

If all you are going to do is whine, complain, rail and attack the developers, you can refrain from posting.

Constructiveness is a must. It isn't a choice. It isn't an option. It is a requirement.

If all you can do is whine about what you think is an affront to you, then please refrain from posting.

Well I've been gone about a month and it seems Epic Duel has finally hit rock bottom. What a shame, this game was amazing the first two years :) If only the devs had an actual balance tester...oh well, time to move on once and for all.

Look at your post and you will realise why now a days, on a excellent day the entire ed forums every section struggles to get past 30 posts , On a average day its more like 5 now. Its bad enough the game died months ago your cutting off the only place what tiny fraction of the player base you have left (not me) to try and make you see sense before ED is forced to close when AE pulls the plug.

I understand this stance and support it. But you have deleted many posts which I think cannot be termed 'unconstructive', even if you stretch its definition. And I cannot approve of that. This forum is dying, after all, because there is little constructive to say, even for the most optimistic of players.

Therril Oreb -> RE: =ED= May 1st, 2014 - Fortune City Countdown (5/10/2014 4:28:40)

Constructive posting does not mean you praise the release/game/post. It means you point out the mistakes and think of possible solutions.
If all you can say is "This sucks, it is horrible and should never be played again" then you are just trolling.
But if you post "Currently the game lacks in-depth content, a reason to play and the fights are just not fun anymore. It needs more storyline and a big overhaul on classes and skills".
You are in the good direction. Even if you have nothing positive to say, you can be negative constructive. The reason we delete non-constructive posts is because nobody is anything with non-constructive posting.
All it does is depressing people, taking the fun away and destroys any reason of discussion.

Hence why we don't say it is not a choice but a must. We want to encourage both players and staff to enjoy reading the forums and learn from mistakes.
But if people only complain for the sake of complaining, the discussion is done and dealt with.

Are bombs sellable for credits? I won't be fighting towards to the war per say, just want the bombs to sell if possible.

Variation -> RE: =ED= May 1st, 2014 - Fortune City Countdown (5/10/2014 9:33:26)

^War drops can be sold for free for those who don't want to participate in the war.

Digital X -> RE: =ED= May 1st, 2014 - Fortune City Countdown (5/10/2014 9:40:40)

Oh ok cheers.

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: =ED= May 1st, 2014 - Fortune City Countdown (5/11/2014 1:17:03)

@Therril

I know what 'constructive' means, and a degree of trust and optimism is needed for one to remain constructive. When the devs not only show no inclination of implementing the solutions/aspects that the players have repeated ad nauseum, but also don't even bother acknowledging the existence of these suggestions by at least posting on the forums to recognise or reject them, at some point cynicism will erode constructiveness. After shouting yourself hoarse at a deaf person walking inexorably to his doom, it's quite reasonable for you to stop giving directions and start swearing. Worse, the ArchKnights further discourage constructive criticism by closing entire threads because of the hateful comments of a few, instead of just deleting those comments. You don't kill people when they get a cold - you treat them. The message you're sending to the few constructive forumites out there is that it doesn't matter whether you're constructive or not - your thread will be killed off regardless of your intentions.

Anyway, back to GD. Legion is going to lose so, so badly. Zero coordination. Why on earth are we going after the Heavy Sapper, when we should be going after the Mega Sapper? The Heavy Sapper is LITERALLY the last thing we should target in this war! Don't the Legionnaires know basic math?

Variation -> RE: =ED= May 1st, 2014 - Fortune City Countdown (5/11/2014 8:08:56)

^The issue is with the inexperienced Legion players. Whenever I see a Legion player attacking a turret that doesn't from a war standpoint make sense I explain to them how the turrets work and why it is a bad choice for them to attack it. The Legions who I play with are very experienced and we know the Mega Sapper should be the first targeted objective until its health gets to a certain point (where with the current damage it would do it's better off attacking a more potent sapper).

As I stated in my first post the same thing was happening during the first regional war in the Dread Plains. As it stands now however, Legion is better off defending because the base damage for bombs is higher than the shells/batteries (used on the consistent turrets). I'm just curious what they plan on doing if the Exile alignment wins every regional war. They should really look at the outcome it may have on the game.

lionblades -> RE: =ED= May 1st, 2014 - Fortune City Countdown (5/11/2014 9:06:51)

Apparently the Devs removed the max 3 times same players fight system. I sometimes fight the same player 4-5 times in a row when player base is low. What a joke...

skeletondude -> RE: =ED= May 1st, 2014 - Fortune City Countdown (5/11/2014 9:38:07)

They should remove the ability to buy bombs. This way people would actually play knowing that they can try for the war leader-board without thinking they don't stand a chance.
