Exploding Penguin -> Wars are kind of bland and monotonous (5/7/2014 18:25:10)

So if you think about it, wars are still pretty much all about PvP. There are objectives and whatnot, but they're all just fancy details to make it seem more interesting at a glance. I was thinking that we should, as a community, maybe think up a new idea for how to make a war more objective-based rather than 100% PvP. ED is a PvP-focused game, but everyone gets bored of it after a while and I think there are some things we can add to wars to make them have more elements aside from just battling a lot. Battles are great and all, but the whole quantity thing really gets boring.

One of my ideas is to make it so that there are certain achievements or goals that you can achieve in each war which add to your side's influence in the war (influence being used as a term, not as the influence point system), or grants you a bomb or something of the like, and bombs are no longer obtained from random drops. For example, getting 10 wins in a row without a single loss would ensure you get a bomb every time you do it. I also liked the concept that was going on previously where an objective could be contested between the 2 alignments, so that you would have to choose which objective you work towards based on each alignment's current control over it.

What are your guys' ideas on how to make wars less focused on a high quantity of battles?

The Dread War is not only just "pretty much based on PVP", its pure PVP and buyable influence.
Daily missions and NPCs should also drop war items (bombs, batteries) randomly.

Mother1 -> RE: Wars are kind of bland and monotonous (5/7/2014 23:51:14)

At least with the dread war 1.0 you could only earn Influence by PVP battle which was and still is a core mechanic to the game. Now however all you need a ton for Varium and you can buy as many bombs as you want to get all the influence you want without a single battle. Also adding injury to insult you don't get influence through PVP battle only though using items.

I can only play for about 10 minutes every time i get on, so yes i agree its pretty boring after abit especially sence everyoneuses the same builds
I agree with mother as well, buying bombs should not be apart of the war, the core that allowsdrops every ttime u win is ok because u still have to battle and win.

As for objective based things to make the war more entertaining. My idea is the you. Have to build the cannons (sappers in this case) in order to attack. And the defenders have to build generators to charge their sheild to defend... Just something random i thought might be cool to do

I belive this topic will be locked in the matter of days cause this is allways rising the fact that people dont like buyable war. Staff dont like people who dont like how buyable war is so this topic is gone like the rest of them.

Face it people. You are doomed playing this game and shut up about the problems.

Many games dont do that to people so just start playing other games. You will be greatly appritiated, but not here bros. Only your money openes doors in this game :)

Btw... Pen is not mightier than the sword. It means you are lazy and trying to find a poetic reason for your lazyness....

today may the 8th. as l came on line l looked at the meter an wow legion which l am are getting killed worst then before the last war. unreal like it is so bad why do we legion even try to win it is a 2.5--1 lead for exile on the meter board. playing the war game has any legion players noticed some thing ( won 10 in a row in battles 2 war bombs dropped ) l say what 2 bombs out of 10 wins in a row. l see who side the deves are on j/k. bombs are not falling right, sad is it not.

l will keep playing but l am now just doing mission for token now l think because no bombs are dropping. l see why players get mad where are the drops. should be every other win bomb drops. l see why players are bored.

crying my eyes out lol

always the syfy

War's a mashup of bad ideas .They were more open to selfish people who really don't care about fixing issues in Twitter / other social media sites than on the forums. Not a surprise . TBH all the blame really isn't on the Devs but rather on AE . Not to be mean , but what did they ( AE and ED devs, , mostly AE ) expect from young audiences , adult-level critcism with whole-hearted level of caring?

.Sir Lazarus. -> RE: Wars are kind of bland and monotonous (5/8/2014 17:16:49)

@ambien

So tell me please what do you expect? Do you expect that the devs do the same thing what they did on gamma? I remember a war system where exile pwned legion just the same and they screwed the system so bad that they made legion win. I didnt see you complaining when frysteland was was won by legion. Btw, do you know why it was won by the legion? Cause it was fixed.

Every time the war was not fixed exile beat legion. Thats just how it is this past 2 years. I remember when legion pwned exile bad and exile couldnt do nothing. I remember too when they changed the war system for the one millionth time and my faction was first in the world domination for 15 days a row what was then compromised by the devs because of you guys whining here about it. The devs then took all of my faction influence and deleted it.... Do you think that is fair?

Then too i remember a day when i had my personal war with battle tested (the legion version) and world domination could only be won by one side who had the most influence. Not both like today and every time but not that time when forums guys thought it was NOT FAIR to them.

Me and my guys fought like no faction is fighting today and it was brought down by you guys.

As much as i dont like the domination of dark vengence today i wont try to make devs delete it. But nobody is taking that from them like you took it from me and my friends.

If you guys didnt complain so much maybe i would never stop playing ed. Imagine the bitterness...

Allways the lazarus - btw what is that suppose to mean? Allways the pffft

I apologize for the bitterness. But try to walk a mile in my shoes.

Variation -> RE: Wars are kind of bland and monotonous (5/8/2014 17:31:00)

^The Frysteland war was definitely not fixed. Legion players spent hundreds of dollars on that war to win war hero and get a high ranking war achievement. The only one who even came close to the spending some of what Legion players spent was Buffy.

Here are some Legion players that spent more than you can imagine

Smackie El Frog
ManThong
Mokta 3
Frog Incognito

Now since Exile did so great in the Frysteland War name one Exile Frysteland War General (that isn't a moderator). Frysteland war was probably the only war where the developers didn't intervene with.

Unfortunately, once again, a discussional thread that started out good has degenerated into finger-pointing, accusations, bitterness and back biting. None of which is allowed on the AE Forums. You guys have been told again and again about keeping attitudes in check and out of the posts. So, since players want to continuiously want to throw good advice away this thread will be locked.

If you cannot post with courtesy, respect and maturity then please do not post until such a time that you can do so. To have threads locked or deleted serves no purpose to you, the game staff or the forum staff. If you want to truly be heard, then I strongly advise reading the =ED= EpicDuel Discussion Forum Rules and the =AE= Comprehensive Forum Rules .

When the community can post with the above guidelines then we may be able to see more of your thoughts and opinions. Until then and with threads such as this, you are getting nowhere.
