Exploding Penguin -> Wars are kind of bland and monotonous (5/7/2014 18:25:10)

So if you think about it, wars are still pretty much all about PvP. There are objectives and whatnot, but they're all just fancy details to make it seem more interesting at a glance. I was thinking that we should, as a community, maybe think up a new idea for how to make a war more objective-based rather than 100% PvP. ED is a PvP-focused game, but everyone gets bored of it after a while and I think there are some things we can add to wars to make them have more elements aside from just battling a lot. Battles are great and all, but the whole quantity thing really gets boring. One of my ideas is to make it so that there are certain achievements or goals that you can achieve in each war which add to your side's influence in the war (influence being used as a term, not as the influence point system), or grants you a bomb or something of the like, and bombs are no longer obtained from random drops. For example, getting 10 wins in a row without a single loss would ensure you get a bomb every time you do it. I also liked the concept that was going on previously where an objective could be contested between the 2 alignments, so that you would have to choose which objective you work towards based on each alignment's current control over it. What are your guys' ideas on how to make wars less focused on a high quantity of battles?
