danirasab -> What has happened to this game? (5/16/2014 9:54:04)

Firstly i am not complaining about nothing, please be respectful to what I say:

1)
I come on after four five months from playing ( probably logged on a few times within those months to see what the update is about) and I cannot join into a 2v2. I love 2v2 but it always say 0 players, the only thing i can play is 1v1 which is boring.

2)
Where are all my favorite players gone from the daily leader board? Probably i some in fame but that is useless to me.

3)
Where does every one hang around? In their houses now? or in oz w7?

4)
Why is there a low amount of players? I normally see 800, and please do not make excuses about the time, i probably logged in every hour and it is still the same.

For sure I can say there are a hell of alot of lower level players around....
I miss all the people i met since this game started to now........

What do you guys think about it?, arent you missing people who you knew and played for a long time....

The answer to this question is simple. they left and moved on.

When omega started the downfall came. Many old time players said "I have had enough" and left due to them not liking what omega brought or rather took from them. Over time others left due to them never fixing to original problems which were the balance issues which in turn also cause more people to go.

Now we have the state that the game is in now due to this.

also the hanging place is now the screen to the right of noami w0

Hook Em -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/23/2014 21:23:41)

There definitely has been many changes, but not everything is fixed. For example, I have a character by the name of Hook Em. He is a level 33. Everything was great and even in the old days. Now, I cant buy a win. Even when I fight guys 4 levels below me. My friends have actually started coming over just to see how many ways this guy can die. Its not like I am being dominated, but it really seems that the game is working against me to the point where we will all start laughing and trying to guess how he will be beat this time. Most battles I will be winning and ALWAYS at the worst time I will be blocked or deflected or a critical against me or I am stunned, etc etc etc. I mean, it gets pretty embarrassing whe you have a level 29 down to 100 points and miraculously they will stun you and on top of that hit me with a critical final blow. I mean a level 29 taking over 700 points from me on one turn? I would also like to know if the game keeps stats on how many higher level battles you fight vs. lower level opponents. I mean, there's got to be SOME people below level 33 still playing?

Mother1 -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/23/2014 21:52:42)

@ hook em

they changed the game so free to play would have a chance. They wanted to remove the pay to win thing (Which is still here in a sense) and make so you can't buy wins. When that happened the masses who saw this was removed quit because of it. Sad but true.

ambien -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/23/2014 23:14:02)

what has happen omega happened. they tryed some thing new to fast an the game is dieing slowly. the updates that happen well l think were not thought out to the best for the game.

players wanted updates, they got some that they should have never did, then balance cryed, oped mages, str builds, manna stealing, manna problem, passive skills left, on an on it went, the war has come well maybe it will leave faster then it came. exile out numbs legion , now they are going to rune the war by giving the loosing side a handie cap, which will mess up the war battles.

the days of beta----- delta are gone forever never to return.

that is what has happen to the game.

always the syfy

upgradefire -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/24/2014 3:09:50)

i just gave up cause i got tired of balance after balance changes. there really is no way to make a game perfectly balanced

Xendran -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/24/2014 3:16:40)

Omega brought one good thing, along with a myriad of bad things. The good thing was the x10 multiplication, but everything else is so amazingly broken that it didn't even matter.
Unfortunately, the staff appears to be in denial about the fact that the only way for the game to recover is to rebuild it entierly.
The longer the game exists, the longer people have to learn about what makes a good game and a bad game. This makes them unlikely to ever come back to this game in its current state.

Remorse -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/24/2014 6:18:08)

^I also appreciate the concept of weapon cores and the removal of enhancements.

However both could of done with better execution.

For example, they could of removed extra stats from enhancements but keep the small variability in stats it offered rather then making all weapons totally flexible and ruing the identity of all gear.

Also the idea of leveling up gear was also pretty good, however with fixed weapon stats this would be more difficult and may involve fixed level up bonuses for each weapon.

And the addition of skill core energy costs and changes to skill passives were not given consideration into the strain on energy and thus a very poor band-aid fix idea was done which was give every class multiple energy manipulating skills, a terrible mistake for variety.

Perhaps they should of made the addition of adding a new cost system (such as my stamina idea) instead of assuming the current one will be able to fit multiple extra loads.

lightriftwalker122 -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/24/2014 17:09:24)

@hook. i still do its just really hard to lv up and other players as same lv as me do better dmg and i put my stat points in respective stats all im trying to say is that players do lots of dmg and its inposible to beat players and lv up and i cant get weapons because the battles are too hard. im lv 8 i think 20 xp per battle is way too little. epicduel lving is harder than aqwords leveling. total xp needed 1200. its too much i like the weapons and storylines though. even before omega it was and still is hard to lv up i joined legion. i wonder about the war. ill help in the next war.
edit just checked i am lv 9 not 8 and total xp need for lv 1922 398 it says. its not 20 exp per battle its 7 its hopeless.

I don't know if this is a general trend but some of my lowbie friends quit at lv38 (legendary ranks?). Some just make new characters which may explain the low levels. I guess a couple casual players quit, because the extreme catering for hardcore players. I know varium is a "shortcut" but when Devs released legendary ranks out of the blue (around December-January last year) this was not the case. IMO Enhancements were a way better version available to all {varium} players regardless of level. I had fun playing ED like 10-20 battles a day but now its play or get left behind. Legendary ranks been around 4-5 months and its a broken idea but I don't think the Devs have commented on this even after Forums threads. Fighting players almost 20 levels above you even when I am level cap? NTY). (This is just my opinion on EDs current decline, but there were more factors. I am not trying to bash the Devs. ED had a few great ideas in Omega but it was piled upon bad ideas. For example, core energy cost (good) but then passive to active change (very bad) lead towards active imbalance and energy restraints (since more energy needed for actives and piled with core energy cost).

Xendran -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/25/2014 2:45:17)

There may be a lot in terms of a ratio of higher to lower level players, but the actual raw player numbers are depressingly low

ScarletReaper -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/25/2014 5:58:45)

@lightriftwalker try npc'ing bro. easy creds and wins. that's what I did till I got to a high enough level to fight everyone else with fully upgraded gear. No matter what you do though, dex abuse tech mages dominate the low levels and there's almost nothing you can do to stop them. I've tried everything I can think of build wise and no success against them. Just annoying.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/25/2014 6:02:01)

The inability to explore with builds despite it being the purpose behind Omega. While I can put that aside, it's mainly due to it being overly repetitive. I cannot understand how players can play 100,000 battles without boring. I've barely reached 10,000 and had enough.

Mother1 -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/25/2014 13:26:34)

@ Valkyrieknight

Most of those players are from older phases when the game was in much better shape than it is now.

Rui. -> RE: What has happened to this game? (5/26/2014 15:51:54)

what happened to this game ?

Omega happened. Lets wait for the next phase.. I hope we can hope for something better !

So when is the next phase ?

This is only partially true. Sure there was a bunch of players that did quit because they lost alot
of the power that varium items and enhancements granted them as their win rate dropped with
the Omega release. However the most players did quit way later because the balance between
classes and skills was and still is horrible and only a few and small balance updates was following
every few months and way delayed. The Omega balance problems then got topped by the
Legendary power bonus system to make balance even worse.

Also the players dont know what the devs plan to do to correct this and if they agree that there
are issues at all that have to be corrected. On the other side pay to win did not get removed
completely but its definetly much better now than before Omega and I think that this change was
basically a good step. As example the core system is functionally pretty much the same
than the old enhancement system that could be used especially for lower level characters to buy
wins (varium). Same with robots as low level characters dont have enough credits for a robot.
