HeroSmash memberships are no longer for sale
Please buy SmashCoins to get premium game content in HeroSmash.

The HeroSmash/AQWorlds cross-linked "VIP" Membership System has ended. Purchasing a membership in AdventureQuest Worlds will no longer give you a free HeroSmash membership.

Here's the fun part:
If you are an existing member of HeroSmash, your HeroSmash membership will last (virtually) forever!

On July 7, 2014, you received a one-time bonus of 5000 SmashCoins for every month remaining in your membership. You also had your HeroSmash game account membership extended automatically by +50 more years!

Past Members
All expired HeroSmash members have been given permanent active member status! Your HeroSmash game account membership has been extended by +50 more years.

There will not be anymore new Member items in the shops.
Existing members can buy old mem stuff.

Randor is working on the details regarding what bonuses will need adjusting with Coin-only and old Mem-only stuff.

What about the Non-member players who have member items in their inventory? They won't be able to use them anymore, why not let the players who still have member items use the items even if the players are not member..? or you could just remove the member "tag" and add Smash Coins tag? tho i'm not sure if that's a good idea, because it will be "pointless" for the players who still have member and players who bought members...

Seriously though... What are current non-members supposed to do if they have old member items?
I reckon changing old member items to non-member would make their membership pointless.

I thought my SC count was broken. XD I bought all the SC items I never had the amount to get before. I also got all my bag slots.

I agree. There could also be something like if you buy a certain amount of coins you also get membership that way not many people feel left out. Though this offer could be limited time.



I will do some faming(do people still say that?[:D]) while farming XP at deathitude now.

If they made all old HS members members, the HS team wouldn't have to go back and change old member items so old members could equip them either.

It seems like a logical solution, but maybe there's something I'm not taking into account.

In all honesty, I am too mad to be jealous because I heard that a friend of mine now has 100,000 SCs from the 20 months of membership they have. Better yet, they got these months of membership from AQW, which is basically giving you a package deal of 'pay nothing for HS and get basically unlimited SCs now and "your HeroSmash membership will last (virtually) forever!"

The fact that I chose to have SCs over membership is my fault, I will accept that. But my logic is so simple, SCs last indefinitely whereas membership comes to an end, I know that as an ex-member from personal experience (my membership ended on 8/23/2012.) I feel insulted, I feel like I am being ignored as a minority because of the 5000 SCs a member got for having 20 months of AQW membership left (maybe a small group actually had HS membership without the link with AQW)

In short, I believe this is unfair towards those who paid for SCs and not membership.

You're part of the business, you're the one running the game, but don't EVER forget about the ones who chose SCs over membership.

Considering Overlook is now in chaos in a few points, but it isn't from some points I do suggest 10k free SC for former memberships of HeroSmash due they weren't really aware at all about this and lots of them did play it from AQWorlds' package which is now a good deal without it, I wasn't really liking the way Herosmash upgrade was currently in because it made HS to tear apart in a slowly way and now the fate did hit on our faces. I'm currently treating this new change as a "2nd Founder" thing cause Herosmash is currently coming up from "ashes".

It was really awesome if the HS staff did give us out something like a 30 days chance to enjoy the last membership package by buying it and telling to everyone this package would be more special than the previous one but removing the AQWorlds' package from it. That would give some players enough time to think about it, but it isn't currently possible... that's why I do suggest a gift of 10k SCs for former members.

Thank you for the 50 years of Membership, that's not really easy to handle over a community doesn't matter their scale and thank you so hard for the hard time for keeping it alive also.

As a balancing act of giving ex-members 10k SCs, it seems like a good idea. But from a financial perspective (my financial opinion) I believe it was unnecessary to give existing members 5000 SCs in the first place for each month they had left of membership, I may not run a business though I'd imagine it hinders support from members who were paying for SCs to buy premium things (like bag and bank space) because they didn't exist in the fame currency.

Secondly, adding 50 years of extra membership for existing members seems like it's too much but it was balanced on the surface with membership no longer existing for HS.

I don't know what to feel about this, as an ex-member of HS. It seems rather sudden to cancel membership without giving advance warning. Does that mean former subscriber items will be locked out to me forever?

Under this new change, yes but it might change due to player feedback which seems to be in favor of also giving former members 50 years of membership along with some smashcoins.

I don't see why they had to remove membership altogether. Why not just remove the VIP membership, thus, requiring people to purchase membership for HeroSmash?

Perhaps they could add a one-time payment for membership like original AQ's Guardianship?

I agree. The bonus 5,000 Smashcoins per month is very excessive, especially considering anyone who paid for membership in AQW could get free membership and free Smashcoins. I reckon it is to compensate for the lack of membership perks anymore, but some people don't even have to support HeroSmash anymore with all the Smashcoins they received. That doesn't sound very good from a financial perspective.

What about people who only bought Smashcoins? Members received 5,000 Smashcoins per month, which is twenty dollars every month, and they also have free membership for life, which someone could've paid for one month of in an AQW package.

It doesn't seem fair any way you look at it.

I don't find this fair in anyway. Honestly I have purchased Lots of Memberships and I chose to start buying SC's over membership and I don't get anything? And now everyone else now has loads of SC's. Really fair

And they can't just change member items into SmashCoin items. That'd make people's membership pointless, and it would greatly upset players who missed out on those items because they bought SmashCoins instead of membership.

If you were benefited from this action of removing membership and given 5000 SCs for each month you had left of membership, I believe you are blinded by the free things you were given to truly know about the shame of having a member's name.

A little unfair? Try extremely unfair, it needs some serious balancing.

I think it is quite fair. WE the members have supported HeroSmash, thus earning what we got. non-members have no right to complain.
