Heroic Necro -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (1/12/2015 20:16:04)

Wait, he already had the bio before the game went live? Just give him the point man. All he did was forget to add it

liamliam1234liam -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (1/13/2015 13:41:01)

Yeah, give him the point. He bothered to write the biography, which is the main criteria.

Superemo -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (1/13/2015 22:41:03)

Ok. He gets the point, due to both criteria being met for me letting it happen. Main post has been edited to that effect.

Superemo -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (1/28/2015 7:48:52)

New update is up. It involves an individual choice that could (at the very least temporarily) split the party. Additionally, the choice will have some future consequences depending on the end result of your actions.

megakyle777 -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (1/28/2015 9:24:06)

I was gonna flip one of my gold coins to pick, but I kinda wanted to help.[:D]

Superemo -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/4/2015 12:27:56)

Just so everyone's aware, the next update will be on Friday. If you haven't posted by then, I'll assume you're going to follow the Armory Guard.

Heroic Necro -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/4/2015 19:54:04)

In case it wasn't clear I'm headed to the dungeon to fight a riot

megakyle777 -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/7/2015 4:47:49)

I don't know why I'm trying to talk him out of it, but I am. There's persuasion checks right?

Superemo -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/7/2015 5:05:00)

So, the newest update is now up. People who are in the Dungeon dealing with the incident there, you're free to deal with what you see as the problem however you see fit. If you're dealing with the Mirror Trap, think about the information present before you take any actions. You can PM me with any question about any enemy or situation, and I'll respond appropriately. You can share the information if you want, but keep in mind that any answer will be given based on your character (if they wouldn't notice something, I'm not going to mention it. I'll also leave out irrelevant details and information you didn't ask for). You can get more detailed information from studying the creature for a full update, except as follows: Bards can study anything tangible while not fully committed to doing anything else, due to the fact they're used to studying things while doing other stuff; Wizards can study magical things while not fully committed to anything else, due to their understanding of magic; Priests can study divine things while not fully committed to doing anything else, due to their connection to the gods; Criminals can study traps, treasure, motives, and things related to their lives of crime (such as locks, poisons, and other fun things) while not fully committed to doing anything else, due to their familiarity with the subject matter; Gamblers can study things that have to do with luck (dice rolls, slot machines, likelihood that something will spontaneously explode) and anything they would reasonably suspect is rigged against them (horse races, checking for loaded dice, looking to see if a page was removed from a book they needed to read), due to their familiarity with the way probability works. Only Rangers are capable of studying things related to non-magical plants, tracking, and non-magical animals. Only Warriors are capable of studying an opponent's armor, weapons, fighting style, and battle plans for weaknesses or benefits.

@Megakyle: You can try to persuade him. I can't guarantee any sort of success.

megakyle777 -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/7/2015 5:11:39)

Oh, I know I probably won't succeed. I just thought it was worth a shot. XD I'm preparing my dagger just in case.[;)]

Heroic Necro -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/7/2015 11:49:49)

Talking is a free action right?

megakyle777 -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/7/2015 12:06:11)

I sure hope so since I gave a answer.[:D]

Heroic Necro -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/7/2015 14:49:56)

You ok with starting a fight or do you still want to give diplomacy a try?

megakyle777 -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/8/2015 3:26:05)

I still want to give diplomacy a try, but I'm more then willing to fight if it comes to it.

Superemo -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/8/2015 7:51:03)

Yes, talking is a free action. I could post the response to the diplomacy attempt, if that would help you decide on a course of action. It would be somewhat of a mini-update. "Somewhat" in this case referring to the fact his response took some thought on my part. Without revealing too much, I can say Henry will be an interesting character if he survives this encounter.

megakyle777 -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/8/2015 8:36:31)

It really would help us decide on a course of action.[:D]

Heroic Necro -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/8/2015 18:46:04)

This guy has to be like, sixty and has been rotting in a jail cell for at least thirty years considering it's long enough for his legend to die. Dude is way past his prime and is some old, yet experienced, coot trying to relive his glory days. I don't expect any magical defenses since he's decked out in hobo armor, and none of the standard issue stuff besides robes is available in the Royal Armory, so it's really doubtful that prison guards have anything better. He's also unlikely to have gotten any of the head honcho equipment since nobody is screaming about revenge or dishonor.

Really, all he's got going for him are his dulled fighting skills and his reputation. Taking this guy out will demoralize his army that he may or may not have, as well as hook us a nice bounty. Any objections?

Superemo -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/8/2015 19:33:07)

^He's actually in his late 20s. He's only been imprisoned for six months. Since almost nobody had seen him for those six months, so the general assumption was that he and the group he was traveling with had been killed (when, in reality, they had been captured by ambush). This line of thinking wasn't discouraged by the Prison Guards, who generally regard information on prisoners as something most people don't need to know, and since it's easier to believe something you want to believe, news of his death was spread by the trade caravans.

Heroic Necro -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/8/2015 20:15:14)

How's he been planning this uprising for decades if he's only been out and about bandit-ing for two? Has he been planning since he was ten?

liamliam1234liam -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/8/2015 21:15:52)

How long are the monster's arms, and am I within range?

Superemo -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/8/2015 22:13:53)

The monster is about 12 feet tall, giving its arms an approximate length of 5 feet each. You're out of its reach, but you're currently having difficulties focusing due to the startling nature of what you just witnessed happening (translation: I rolled when the monster suddenly appeared and spouted gibberish to see if you were stunned by what you saw. I made it an easy roll [required total of 10] and gave a rather large bonus [+1 per Wisdom], but your roll was a 3. Here's the roller I used, for a reference). You can focus enough to move around, but not enough to attack or study the thing.

megakyle777 -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/9/2015 7:46:11)

No objections here. I'm gonna try to get him too mad to think straight. If he moves first without thinking odds are we or the guards can cut him down easy.

Heroic Necro -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/9/2015 19:08:43)

I'll just keep my action to be fusing his hobo armor into one piece if he tries to attack anything

Superemo -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/11/2015 23:37:08)

I'm just now realizing that I haven't stated this openly in this thread, so I'm going to do so now:
I'm going to try for weekly updates in this game. I'll keep that up for as long as I can. If I need to switch the update schedule, I'll try to let people know in advance, but expect updates to be on Fridays until further notice.

@megakyle: Trying to convince him of various things hasn't worked out very well so far. That's all I'm saying on that matter.

megakyle777 -> RE: The Unlikely Quest OOC (Applications Now Open) (2/11/2015 23:45:00)

Hrrrmmm, good point, and I'm not sure that my move is a good course of action.. I'm gonna change it. To a even worse course of action it seems.
