It's that time again, Warmongers! Same routine as always, but only while resting from the war front!

A pirate ran forward, cutting down one of my brethren with a horrendously sloppy swing of his cutlass. His hearty laugh of victory was silenced swiftly as one of my kunai pierced his back. With a graceful silence, I rolled out from the cover of the trees, sprinting down the beach towards a group of the surprised barbarians, who were taken aback by their companion's sudden death. The three of them fumbled with their weapons as I cut the first down with a swift swing of my sword, cleaving his stinking, filthy body from shoulder to hip. A second one, too slow with his flintlock, attempted to tackle me, but I sent my foot slamming into his knee, and flipped him over my hip, knocking the breath out of him. I easily blocked the strike from the third one's short dirk, sending a lightning fast kick across his jaw. As the second one rolled to his feet, I nimbly dodged the speeding ball of lead that came from his gun, stabbing the one whose jaw I had just shattered with another knife. The last one charged me, cutlass swinging towards me with a vicious backhand blow, but I ducked, and he barely dodged my sword strike at his legs. As he swung his sword down at my head, I flipped backwards, kicking the blade up, almost disarming him as I landed a few feet away in the sand. Simultaneously, we charged, both of our blades locking at the hilt. Seizing the opportunity, I drove my knife through his eye, finally ending the fight.

Rising to my feet, I quickly retrieved my knives, and retreated back into the jungle, silently moving through the foliage to find my next victim. That's all they were to me, victims. They didn't even deserve to be called opponents; opponents suggested that the enemy stood a chance. I knew the filthy mongrels didn't though, not against someone like me. I was Xiao Lang, the last true assassin trained by master Tirin, and I was sure none of those pirates couldn't hope to match my skill. If the other residents of Sho'nuff knew who I was, I'd probably be a legend, like my master. One day I planned to reveal myself, and finally show the other ninjas the true way of the shadow, and finally drive out the filthy pirates off of our island.

My island.

Striding elegantly down the wooden ramp of his ship, Nidugg was ambushed by a katana wielding figure in black, blade headed straight for his throat. Were this to happen to any normal pirate, they would have been cut down within seconds. That said, Nidugg was hardly what you'd call normal; with inhuman speed his blade flashed, disarming the ninja, watching his eyes widen in surprise as he cut him across the belly with a perfectly executed backhand stroke. Kicking the assassin from the ramp, he continued his confident stride down towards the beach, an arrogant smirk on his face as he thought about the pathetic little cowards that would dare to face him. If anybody was going to have this secret, it was the pirates. More specifically, him, so he could finally establish himself as a leader, and show them his secrets, giving them the power to exterminate the ninjas off of the island. His thoughts were interrupted by three more masked men sprinting from three directions out of the jungle, the left farthest one threw a shurikan at him, spiraling towards his face rapidly. He lazily sidestepped, taking a swig from his special brew. The farthest one right was upon him, spinning his dual shortswords rapidly, gaining momentum to strike a perfect slash that would cut him down with elegant ease. As he swung with one blade, and thrusted with the other, he was amazed to find that the pirate captain was no longer there. Realization dawned upon him as the slender blade of a cutlass burst through his chest, and a muffled choking could be heard from behind the mask. Turning to face his other opponents, he saw that one stood frozen in horror, while the other one was gone. Drawing his flintlock, he saw the ninja tried to dodge, but was too slow to escape the speeding ball of lead that struck him in the temple. He felt movement behind him, ducking as the last ninja swung a roundhouse kick, narrowly missing the top of his head. He swung his left, hooked hand up, and sliced cleanly through his foot, sending him toppling down into the sand, screaming until the dirk in his throat silenced him.

As he retrieved his sword from one of the ninja's body, he felt the effect of his speed potion wear off, causing him to spasm in shock as he pulled the cork of his next bottle off with his teeth. The potions wore off far too quickly for his liking, but it was a reasonable price to pay, considering the power they gave him. As long as one of those filthy ninjas didn't discover his secret, he would be fine, and he would finally get the dirty mongrels off of the island.

His island.
