Tmae's Mechquest Fanart So, uh, hi! I'm Tmae, which you probably already knew since it's in the name of the gallery. I'm a scottish girl in her last year of high school and I draw! I apologise in advance if I seem terse, skittish, or awkward at any point - I'm easily intimidated by new places and tend to use as few words as I can when I'm uncomfortable, evidenced by the fact that I've had a forum account for about two years and this is my first post ever. By and large, I'm a big fan of characters and tend to stick to drawing what I know, most of what you'll see here is probably going to be significantly more NPCs than giant robots. You may or may not notice an overabundance of Sys-Zero compared to everyone else as well - I have a great love for his design and find him incredibly fun to draw. I made this gallery partly as a way to show my art to more people, and partly because a friend convinced me to. (You know who you are.) Pretty much all of my art is drawn via mouse, as I don't own a tablet, though some of it was initially done by hand on paper and then converted to a digital format. The quality may appear to fluctuate initially, but this is mostly because I'm not going to be posting things in the order that they were drawn - by and large because I can't remember the order they were drawn it. If there are any particular characters you want to see, I'd be happy to take a crack at it, though I can't offer any guarantees! This was the first piece of MQ fanart I did, so it's pretty different compared to everything else. It was supposed to be Sys-Zero and his not-shadowscythe-corrupted mecha, though I somehow mixed up the colours of said giant robot. A while back, I was working on a Mechquest fanfic, and it resulted in a cut scene featuring a young Sys-Zero. While the scene didn't make the cut in the story, I found the mental image to good to just throw away, and drew part of it. Below is said drawing, and an excerpt from the scene that inspired it, since the two go together. The boy is young, with a height that suggests he may be five or six. He’s mud-splattered on both his skin and clothes but doesn’t appear to have a care in the world about it. The pair of glasses on his face has large, strong lenses, that practically blur the eyes behind them to be impossible to see clearly. He has a mop of fly-away blond hair - a bright golden shade that is almost yellow - that falls down to cover his eyes even more and constrasts with his brown skin. The shirt he’s wearing, a faded blue, is just a bit too big for him and is slipping off of his shoulder. He gives a wide, toothy grin, revealing himself to be missing his two front teeth and a bottom canine. He sticks a hand out to shake, “I’m Sys-Zero!” he declares, a missing-front-teeth-induced lisp turning his pronounciation of his name into something more resembling ‘Thith-thero’. I have quite a large interest in the Reset and I tend to find myself wondering who and what characters we see in Dragonfable were before it. At one point, I was thinking about Alexander (later Xan) and decided I quite liked the idea that his head had not been set on fire and that he was a G.E.A.R.S professor. Nurse Helia! A while ago, I stumbled across some hilarious mugs for nurses. I was also wanting to draw a Mechquest character other than Sys-Zero, since at that point I hadn't done so yet. The two combined quite beautifully, if I do say so myself. If it isn't clear in the image itself, the mug she's holding here reads "Hi, I'm your nurse. What stupid thing did you do?" I wish that I could say you get no context for this one, but I can't. Not that this makes much more sense with context, mind you. A post over on tumblr, containing puns. Quuenadent Odessa Pureheart! A much more recent drawing than any of the others, as this is one I drew today. I realised that the majority of my fanart was of Sys-Zero and I wanted to draw some of the girls. This is first of three, currently, with more in the same sort of style hopefully to happen soon.
