Re-releasing an older phase of a game is a doable thing. RuneScape, for instance, has an old school version of it, the thing is, it not created by the original developpers of the game. But in general, this means, re-releasing an older phase of any game is totally doable. The question is, is it worth it? For RS, totally. But for ED? Only few can answer this question, and those few are those who actually played the game in its earlier phases, not those who only hear from some veterans, ED was such a hit, ED was great, and etc.. but to be honest, in the past, ED had its problems, a lot actually. For me personally, there are 2 hypotheses: - An older version is restored taking 0 effort from the devs, which means this wouldn't affect the usual developpement of the actual ED. - An older version is restored by devs and given to players to work on it. Ofcourse if devs agree to do so. The players then can create a new website and launch the classic ED on it. Why so? Because I doubt the devs would spend cash on a new server, plus, ofcourse, engine limitations. Classic ED used to work on a different engine. All in all, I do not have a problem with re-releasing an older version of ED, but I assure you that classic ED had tons of troubles, from balance problems to engine limitations, hence why it was primordial to change to a different engine, taking A LOT of programmers' time (Titan and Rabblefroth) to re-write Tons and Tons of codes. I don't think they woke up one day, and decided to do so. If the classic ED is going to be for nostalgic purposes only, it wouldn't impose many problems, but if players decide to actually play it, well, it's here where the problem lies. The game would need a dedicated testing team to balance it, a thing devs won't do, and hence why I suggested the transfer of this ED version to players to work on it. As for the second suggestion, and as OWA explained, you can already see how much players were butthurt about the egg zooka, me included. So I don't think many will like it, as tons of cash was paid such exculsive items that were promised to never go back. I do however support a creation of mocking-versions of rare cores, to add a bit of variety to the game.
