In order to craft something, you need to do the following.
1. Find a Craft Shop. The wiki does have a list of Craft Shops that can be found here if you need help finding one.
2. If you see something in a Craft Shop that you would like to craft, gather the craft materials and gold that are listed in the shop that are needed to craft the item.
3. Once you have all the craft materials needed to craft the item, hit the "Craft" button. You will need to wait a certain amount of time for the item to craft depending on what the item is, but once that time is up, you will have your item.

@dbukalski
The recipes are predetermined, meaning, you'll only need to gather only the materials to craft the item. (As of now that's the structure of the game system, it might change in the future.)

Think of them like the Merge shops in AQW but with TIMERS.

All the location pages on the wiki have /join commands, you can type /join mapname in the game in order to travel to that map.

I cant tell you how jazzed I would be if we had true crafting with specialty trees and what not. Its not that I *dont* like the way it is now, its just that I like a good deal of complexity/customization to my game. Being able to craft my own sword from a recipe I spent time farming mats for and gaining exp in my craft so I can learn more recipes is a real goal I would (not) kill for. (lol)

Hopefully the AQ3D team will implement that in the future, and even allow us to use certain ingredients and reagents which favour a particular stat (e.g. A sword which excels with strong attack to my liking). Game goes full version in October, so with all the noticeable improvements we can certainly hope.

Addendum:

1.b. Each craft shop is located very close to where you farm for the materials needed by the "Crafting Recipe", so you should already be in the correct neighborhood when you do your farming for materials (see Rickyb20's #2).
3.b. Once you 'hit the "Craft" button', you are not required to stick around that Crafting Shop to get your crafted item; you can use the "Crafting" function on your Game Menu to track Crafting Progress and collect completed Crafting projects.
4. Once the required amount of time for your Crafting process has passed (when your crafting project is "Completed"), you still will need to "Claim" said project before the Crafted Item will show up in your Inventory.
4.b. As stated in 3.b. you may use the "Crafting" function in your Game Menu (as well as the original Craft Shop) to claim your Completed Crafting project.

As this game is still in Beta (as of the time I am writing this) the above is still subject to the Beta Rules on what might (or might not) be changed with (or without) notice.
And I, for one, hope they will continue to allow the Crafting clock(s) to run (even & especially) while one is logged out!
