I think it would be very successful. The only reason why I no longer play is due to the inconvenience of browser games. I'd much rather play on the go with my phone.

It would have to be far more simplistic, without the hub world, quests etc. And remain as a PvP game where you gain currency through fighting, where you unlock new weapons and armor through a shop with in-game currency or cash. I saw another thread about this, sorry if I'm repeating what's already been said.

But I hope they consider this in the future, mobile gaming is a market with so much potential, PvP games especially.

Epicduel will not work on mobile... It would be terrible.

It would be a game of very few scenes like you said. You'd have a menu for shops, game type selection, and possibly a rework of missions to give extra grind. The inclusion of NPC's in the normal fight pool means you could potentially have an offline mode as well.

No clue if you'd see a continuation of seaso... Wars, I mean wars. It wouldn't have an explorable map outside of maybe setting your fight background.

It would just be EpicDuel's core gameplay loop and I don't know if that would do well on mobile

Epic Duel would work well on mobile due to the nature of turn based combat, which requires less complex movement with your fingers. Mobile games also have a much lower standard than PC games, simplistic graphics and gameplay is often a plus.

The inclusion of online PvP and leaderboards tend to make the most money, potentially putting your game on the top grossing games chart. Epic Duel has that competitive aspect to it, in addition to a constant grind for levels, which is also keeping players active in games like Clash of Clans.

Again, it wouldn't be as easy as simply cutting content from the game, it would obviously have to be reworked. I'd love to see the devs focus on this, rather than another Bio Beasts type of game. There's a lot of money in competitive online games on mobile, whereas browser games have died with the new generation.

Edit: @8x, I saw, but the thread was locked and I wanted to share my input.

The style of gameplay does well but EpicDuel's core loop in itself has a bunch of issues with balance which can be very frustrating and lead to drop off.

I'd like to see a return of passives if it went mobile, but at that point they would have to rebalance the game and it suddenly becomes a much bigger task.

You have to rebalance, as well as rebuild, no matter how you go about. Might as well go all out and put passives as truly passive skills instead of something you spec into. That way you can make them weaker than their old state but also not a mandatory 6-10 level investment

It would work just as well as Oversoul on mobile. Both could have been great experiments before AE's current obsession with AQ3D.
