Balance

  • Bounty Hunter
    • Smoke Screen -- Smoke Screen: Improve for every 4 levels above 20; Improve by 1 Dex point every 4.4 levels of Tech
  • Blood Mage
    • Energy Parasite: Increased Duration to 3; Reduced max energy drain to 15% and adjusted all levels accordingly; Increased cooldown to 4
    • Plasma Cannon: +40 to all levels (was +80); Increased cooldown to 3
    • Fireball: Improves for every 3.5 Strength; Defense reduction debuff increased to 15%
  • Mercenary
    • Increased cooldown to 3
    • Bunker Buster: +80 to all levels
  • Infernal Andriod
    • Reduced max damage to 115%
    • Reduced round damage increase to 3% each turn
    • Increased base damage from 85% to 91%

If anything a weekly to bi-weekly shake-up should keep things fresh

This seems like a good update for the blood mage.

Plasma cannon seems a bit too strong as of now, especially since the BH smoke nerf.

We will see this week what will happen with them, but I sense a BM cannon nerf, and possibly a fireball buff, since it still seems mediocre.

We will see more this week, and I am hoping to find some ideas to buff CH since that class looks basically abandoned.


EDIT: BM Cannon nerfed a bit to bring it back in balance, and parasite is now 4 turn cooldown which may hurt a bit, but we will see.

Blood Mage just got a late breaking balance patch. Plasma Cannon was brought down a tiny bit and the design notes updated accordingly.

No problem. But I really need to set phone notifications for NW tweets. Not being a staff member puts me a little behind the ball if I'm playing a game during update time

NW forgot to put the 1.6.78 balance patch information in the design notes and he has been marking them wrong in the DNs ever since then...

Smoke screen now improves by 1 Dex point every 4.4 levels of Tech and Bunker Buster has 3 turn cooldown.

Loving the patch for today, I love a lot of the new vehicle designs, and wow it's a lot. Biggest vehicle release we've gotten thus far. Plus I think the bunker buff is hilarious to use, ran 160 tech and 1 shotting people in 2v2s. 10/10 would bunker again.

@Ginger I mean it's strong in a normal build but I'm just running a trolly one trick pony-build, it gets shut down 100% by any good energy control build or pyro fly if it gets the lucky disable. Basically it just comes down to if I can get one good hit. It's not very conventional but its funny with the reactions you get.

Fireball isn’t bad, I got consistently beaten by a STR BM around my rank using a max Fireball build against my 5 focus merc. It had 830 base damage and wasn’t affected by my Katherax. I like to think of myself as a pretty good player who doesn’t get consistently beaten by anyone unless they outrank me by a lot (and even if they do, I usually have a good shot at winning). So this particular build pleasantly surprised me and gives me the impression that STR BM is very viable.

You have blood hawk armor, means you don't have generator, or piston punch. That is a huge flaw.

You have a club, that is also a huge flaw for a 5 focus merc, since sword is better.

Bludgeon on 5/6 is better than fireball on Max.

Generator is very important and I recommend using it. Also use blood commander first turn against the Blood Mage, then use intimidate, then you win pretty easily against a str bm with max fireball, you may even throw in a hybrid if you think you need it.

Agreed with Lord Ginger. Blood mages are not hard to beat, there is likely a flaw in your build.
