NDB -> Excess Arcade Tokens (1/4/2019 2:15:37)

This is going to need to be addressed sooner or later, so I'm just going to bring it up now.

More than just a few players by now have maxed or are very close to maxing all 22 of their arcade achievements (and, naturally, obtained all or almost all possible gold prizes), rendering the arcade token as an essentially useless resource that also cannot be sold. This is hugely problematic because they consume a massive amount of inventory/bank space, and even if one were to purchase more slots, the maximum number of inventory and bank slots is only 1,300.

In my case, I have almost 6,000 excess arcade tokens in the form of gifts and already have every gold prize in the game. Unless a meaningful method of relinquishing these tokens is made soon, I'll soon be forced into a trap between two options: 1) Essentially "waste" them by spending them on arcades I have already maxed, or 2) be stuck with a badly overstuffed inventory for indefinite time. The first option is problematic because not only are 1000s of tokens being depleted for no good reason, I will have utterly doomed myself should new arcade bots be implemented in the future. The second option is also extremely problematic for obvious reasons.

What's more concerning, thinking long-term, is that even the people who are not yet facing this problem surely will be after next year's gifting, and no amount of new arcades is going to prevent it from happening.

Clearly, a long-term solution to this problem must be implemented because players should not have to be trapped between the two options described above. Here are a few possible solutions I have thought of:

1. Treat arcade tokens as a currency (like credits, varium, and its battle token predecessor) rather than a physical item in the inventory. The currency count could then either be displayed in the inventory and/or in the arcade bot like it already is.

2. Make arcade tokens, and perhaps all miscellaneous items not count for inventory space.

3. Make duplicate items "stack" like they do in games like AQW, though I realize this could be a programming challenge not feasible at this point.

4. I hate to say this, but raise the max arcade achievement tiers, but only as a last resort. This is not a great solution because statistically speaking, at the current max tier (35,000 points), you would have already gotten every gold prize for most arcades so spending tokens at that point would solely be to max out the achievement which was not the original purpose of the arcade system (it's called "arcade" because you're trying to win a prize; increasing rating points was just icing on the cake).

I though miscellaneous items didn't count towards inventory?

They could also add an "End-game" arcade bot that cost 50 or 100 tokens per spin, maybe it has some really cool items, maybe its achievement is worth a bit more...

What if you could sell the arcade tokens? If you already have all achivements maxed then getting an arcade token as a gift is a waste since a normal gift grants you around 1k credits. When you get a token you don't have other way than spending it in the arcade machine. You are most of the times getting a bronze item with 40 credits value what means you are losing 960 credits.

Then you can choose, if you want to upgrade achievements/try luck with some gold items or just sell them all.

@8x

Those items used to not take up inventory space, however when they buffed the inventory space sometime ago the made it so those items counted towards the space again.

@Mother1
Wow... that sucks. I didn't see any mention of it, I wonder if its actually a bug.
