Defender Medals can be used to make stuff in the shops in Falconreach. Same building as the Stat Trainer. Just go down from the Inn and its the shop on the right.

@ghostquartet the best item you can pick up for a small amount of medals is an initial level Escelense weapon if you havent gotten the sun god god scythe for its special. None of the pets or trinkets are worth getting either, the real prizes are around in this order of priority Defender dragon belt/necklace > defender cannon initial level > eleunity upgrades = Defender dragon ring The defender belt and necklace cost around 3000 each to level up to max, defender cannon version 1 costs 2000, eleunity takes a whole lot to max and ring is also 3000 but its nowhere near as good as belt and necklace so its lowest priority. All the other stuff is mostly a waste of medals.

Both are better in my opinion than the catapult. Broken mechanism is just a smaller scale version of the last lock. The 3 doors seems to just be random luck. It has too few options to be a puzzle. But there might be a secret room somewhere.

The Broken Mechanism option is a lot faster than the catapult (which I was always bad at) but the tradeoff is that you don't get the gold/exp. Convoluted Path is... convoluted, it's a neat trick but finding the correct order of doors is a bit of a pain.

Came to post that I like the background that was added, it's fits quite well with my current array of backgrounds (got some Zelda ones, Windows XP nature ones, etc. quite a few are bright coloured, a few from Zelda, etc.), then saw Star's and kidwizrd's posts and quickly checked out the war again. I agree that I like them both a lot more than the catapult (which is still fun) and I think they are faster than it too. Also now with Broken Mechanism I got to try out something that I thought someone had said, but I didn't want to do the whole quest again (at the time). You can replace non-broken pieces, and the old piece just disappears. Wow, that means I overcomplicated the first time a lot!

With my level 20 alternate, footwaves take MUCH longer, so even with the random chance of the Convoluted Path, both minigames average faster than footwaves for them.

@Star, I think they were asking if anything different happens on completion. I think the quests are faster than the catapult, due to animations (hit or miss), but yeah, not sure of normal footwaves actually, however nice variants as something else to do.
