For most Ranged Armor Skills (ex. Lord of the Skies, Moglord Tortress, WKZ), would it be better to have 250 STR, 0 DEX or 250 DEX, 0 STR or 250 DEX, 0 STR + Thernda guest?

I am thinking about switching my main from a lucky Beastwarrior to a Lucky Beastranger so would love the insight. The low accuracy hurts both my character and the guests/pets :(

In general, you're better off not dumping either stat. 150 DEX/100 STR or 150 STR /100 DEX. You might wanna lower another stat if you absolutely can't.

Moglord Tortress uses STR/5+DEX/20.

Stat damage
Melee: STR/8 + LUK*3/80
Ranged: STR/10 + DEX/40 + LUK*3/80

Stat Bonus to Hit (BTH)
Melee: [STR*(3/40) + DEX*(3/40) + LUK/40]
Ranged: [DEX*(3/20) + LUK/40]

At 250 Str, 0 Dex, 250 Luk:
(.5+0*.0015)(2(50+250*.154+0*.0385)+250*.0575) = 94.25% melee for Neutral lean weapon element skill
(.5+250*.00075).6(50+250*.1925) = 40.476% melee Guest
(.5+250*.00075).4(50+250*.1925+250*.0575) = 30.15% melee Pet

At 0 Str 250 Dex, 250 Luk:
(.5+250*.0015)(2(50+0*.154+250*.0385)+250*.0575) = 114.406% melee for Neutral lean weapon element skill
(.5+500*.00075)(.6(50+250*.1925) = 51.515% melee Guest
(.5+500*.00075)(.4(50+250*.1925+250*.0575) = 38.369% melee Pet

At 2.107 Elecomp of a Pre-Status Lean Ranged skill-Offensive Lean normal weapon attack, to compare to a Guest's output bring it up to skill level by applying /.22125 which is the resource cost:
2.107*94.25-61.363= +137.235% melee, Guest 182.942% melee
2.107*114.406-76.378 = +164.692% melee, Guest 232.836% melee

Wow, I did not realize I was missing 20+% melee damage for my Guests and Pets with my 0 DEX. This is not ideal :|

As for the last part, I'm having a little trouble following. Are you saying that a pre-status ranged skill (LoTS, WKZ) deal an additional +137% or +164% melee damage than current neutral lean weapon element skills?

The 2.107 Elecomp of Pre-Status lean skill is composed of 1.3/.7 +.25 for Offensive lean, Modern Elecomp is .25 less for all Armor leans.

The +melee% is the isolated contribution of resource cost and Elecomp, its derived from subtracting the third number the Offensive lean normal weapon element attack of 61.363 or 76.375, from the total damage of an Offensive lean Elecomp skill, which is calculated by multiplying the first number the Elecomp with the second number the Neutral lean skill of 94.25 or 114.406.

Without Str, higher proc Ranged weapons produce more damage than no proc in Offensive lean, there is not a proc value where it would hit a limit due reducing the composition of weapon attacks affected by Offensive lean, but don't use 100% procs, because with the new standards in place its essentially a 20% proc weapon that's is restricted to Neutral to (Mid)Defensive lean.

Ah I see. So overall, a 250 DEX/CHA/LUK build is better than a 250 STR/CHA/LUK build on the current standards.
