Book 3: Sulen'Eska Reimagined: Part 2

Hey there, heroes!

For this month's reimagined release, we have rewritten, recontextualized, and readded the trio of quests that previously were the start of the Sulen'Eska storyline.

[image]https://cms.dragonfable.com/df/images/SULENESKA2dn.png[/image]

"Dancing On the Breeze", "Swirl of Color and Fragrance", and "A Song On the Wind" have been moved to Laesa Forn, the Wind Elf outside the tent on the path to Kara. The Rose Emblem shops have been moved to Paina Jainen, the Wind Elf who tends the forge on the first floor of Sulen'Eska.

The rewards for these quests have now had level 90 versions added, and the level 21 versions no longer require a Dragon Amulet to use. Also, a bug has been fixed with the Swordhaven Cape III where it gave an undefined resistance.

Head over to Sulen'Eska to play this month's Reimagined release!

Evolved and Color Custom Evolved DragonLord have now been added to DragonLord's customization options with new art from Dracelix! If you previously had these classes equipped, you'll have to go to the Class Customization room to customize your armor to the respective Evolved pieces! We've also added a Feral 2 option, which has element-matching glows.

The color custom shading on DragonLord has also been reworked, and should stand out and be much better looking than before.

Dove has also made the DragonLord's wings match the Color-Custom-ness of your body customization.

Also, the Anniversary Sycthes will be leaving for another year with next week's release! Make sure to pick them up while they're here!

Finally, this has been a stressful but incredible month for all of us working on DragonFable. We'd like to thank all of our players for playing and supporting the game, and getting us through another year of awesome stories and challenges.

It's all thanks to you that we're able to keep doing this, and we do it all for you!

Here's to another year and many more of DragonFable!

I'll be honest, I have no memory of these quests. Are all of them suppose to have the same rewards?

Recynon -> RE: =DF= June 26th Design Notes: Book 3: Sulen'Eska Reimagined: Part 2 (6/26/2020 23:34:32)

I really appreciate that the DF team continues to dedicate their time towards cosmetic changes and even more that they're trying their best in the current situation.

However, whoever did the art for the updated Dragonlord a few years ago as well as the art for these customizations doesn't seem to realize that human chests do not slope at a 45 degree angle from the side view, no matter how big your pectoral muscles are. I understand that some of Dragonfable's anatomy is exaggerated, such as the disproportionately large calves, but this exaggeration is extremely ugly to look at. Maybe they were going for a gundam mech chest, which protrudes outward, but it doesn't work imo. Is it possible to add the old Dragonlord armor was part of the current Dragonlord customizations? That art was much more elegant and also doesn't contain huge calves. It doesn't have to be the full flash file, as obviously the whole structure of the class is different, but I'm thinking it should be relatively easy to just import the art over.

I'm a huge fan of the art update! I know I've said this on multiple platforms and all over the place, but the game has had some really outstanding artwork lately. The shading update really feels like it brings Dragonlord in line with the modern art style. It's also great to see that these early Sulen'Eska quests have been changed a bit to make them more fitting in tone, and I love seeing this kind of dedication to making older content feel better. I haven't gotten all the new rewards yet, but I'll set that as my next goal.

It's been an incredible month of updates, fitting for DragonFable's anniversary!

Primate Murder -> RE: =DF= June 26th Design Notes: Book 3: Sulen'Eska Reimagined: Part 2 (6/27/2020 0:56:33)

The new Sulen'Eska quests fit in a lot better, providing some background for the Vind, while evoking a genuine feeling of sadness and loss.

Very well written.

Flabagast -> RE: =DF= June 26th Design Notes: Book 3: Sulen'Eska Reimagined: Part 2 (6/27/2020 17:17:54)

The quests being repurposed to making tributes to the Sanctuary is a really nice touch. It's nice to have more interactions with he NPCs too; makes Sulen'Eska feel a little more alive.

Big fan of the reshading on Dragonlord too. So shiny!

Sakurai the Cursed -> RE: =DF= June 26th Design Notes: Book 3: Sulen'Eska Reimagined: Part 2 (6/30/2020 18:06:12)

With the various DragonLord armor types now being piecemeal in nature, would it make more sense for the Evolved pieces to have the always-blue accent lines changed to be CC, either to trim or hair color? The unchangeable blue made sense as one cohesive set - as an accent theme running throughout the whole armor - but when using only bits and pieces it clashes with every other option available unless you just happen to be using a similar blue anyway. It's not a huge issue of course, but with all the other accents having been made to be CC this is the only remaining aspect that doesn't really mesh and kinda limits the possibilities of the customization.

Alm Nullamors -> RE: =DF= June 26th Design Notes: Book 3: Sulen'Eska Reimagined: Part 2 (6/30/2020 19:29:27)

I'm not exactly 100% on board with the blue accent either. I gave CC Evolved a fair walkaround but I couldn't get used to those bits with my colour setup. In the end I went for with the Feral 1 arm because that excessively large shield suits my usual PDL tank build, with Draconic everything else.

Glad to see updates like this
