Book 1 Revisited: Sneevil Dumpsite! (Also Castle Valtrith)
Hey there, heroes!

This week, we're revisiting Book 1 again for the second time this month! Also the Castle Valtrith quest has been updated!

[image]https://cms.battleon.com/DF/images/2025-05-30-DumpsiteDN.png[/image]

The Sneevil Dumpsite and Egg Recovery quests have been updated with new music, typo fixes, and rewards. The Ultra Vultragon now has some boss mechanics, and Valencia will also now join you for the quest to rescue the Dragon Egg! (Note: The Decayed Bandit Sword upgrade is currently in the Forgotten Spear shop at Guardian Smith. This will be updated at a later date)

The Castle Valtrith quest has been updated, with updated art and music. The run speed has also been made quicker, and you'll now continue moving after you complete a battle in the quest.

Symone also now has a set of ShadowHunter cosmetic items available for purchase using Bloody Monster Hearts! And that's not all for ShadowHunter! The class now has a couple new customizations available, including Color Custom, and Slayer! The Slayer customization is unlocked by having the ShadowSlayer's Hat in your inventory or bank.

Head over to Valencia or Symone to check out this week's updates!

Also this week, a new Dragon Coin bonus is now live!

And that's all for this week! DragonFable's anniversary month begins next week... and we have a few cool things in store!

I didn't end up having the time to go over Wrath of Xan previously, but one thing I'd like to note there is to please make the war mobs less fat. The Hordes being large is fine, since it's a group of enemies.
Having access to their elemental weaknesses would be nice, but the only easily accessible ones are the Ice weapons at Serenity and Yulgar, which vary in level, and there's no Warrior option. I don't think the game really teaches that this doesn't hugely matter, but Warrior based newbies might not go for them.
It's very cool to keep the progression of Falconreach burning down, but it does mean there's a lot of enemies in there, that combined with them being bulky doesn't feel good.

Anyways, the new stuff.
I like that Valencia comes with us for the Vultragon hunt, but it feels weird that she's not in the cutscenes before and after the fight. She doesn't really need to say anything there, just feels a bit off that she pops in just for the fight.
Not sure what to think of another weapon that gets upgraded as you progress through the game, but you can't really call it a spear shop anymore I guess.
Something to note that's kind of felt like an issue overall, and now really reared its head here is the drop and EXP scaling, which is a bit off.

For some reason, Robina's stuff gives you level 10 stuff (You won't be at 10 yet), and then Wrath of Xan goes down a bit. Now here, we get level 11 gear, including an upgraded Stone weapon to fight the Vultragon with... but you're not level 11 yet. It feels sensible that this weapon that helps you tremendously against the boss should be accessible without resorting to grinding quests (Not like there's much you can do so on that's meant for your level).

Also, as a bit of an unfortunate coincidence, the Last Board of Falconreach gives you access to Stone weapons, just like the Bandit Blade upgrade does. Also at level 11. And you should have that, hopefully, which works really nicely to get past Vultragon as well, go figure, but the same issue ends up being present for that. (The lower tier ones are at level 7,so it's not like they're no usable or anything ofc)
