Over the years I've been playing a lot of Roguelikes and it got me thinking.. what if all the content in Dragonfable (cool weapons, armor, pets) were used to make a standalone turn based roguelike The Necrotic Spire of DOOM: A Roguelike Dragonfable Adventure Basic idea: Uses the art and assets from Dragonfable to reconstruct parts of the game into a roguelike. Players start as Warrior class with no skills (Only the attack button) Players go through a biome (Based on locations such as the Sandsea, Amityville, ect) filled with monsters and eventually fight a boss. They then open a chest that allows them to select a random weapon (from a selection based on their level) a random skill (from a selection based on their class) and sometimes a random pet. Between biomes, players navigate on a map like Slay the Spires/Across the Obelisks Location Web System. In this web system Players navigate nodes which can have the following: Armor Shop: A shop where players can buy armor based on their level Weapon Shop: Players can buy a new weapon based on their level with Gold Pet Shop: Players can buy a new weapon based on their level with Gold Recruitment Center: Players can recruit Guest Characters for a Gold cost Random Encounter: Various events such as Random fight scaled to your level, find a hatchable Dragon Egg, find a follower npc Weapon Upgrade Center: Enhance your weapon to your current level Wheel of DOOM: Spin a Wheel with random chances to take damage, get a free DOOM weapon, get gold, get attacked by Skeletons ..and more! I have created a rough mockup of the node system using Dragonfables existing icons similar look of Slay the Spire. At the top is the main boss for this Biome. The question mark is the random encounter. You can see a gear shop icon, pet shop icon, regular fight skull icons and a miniboss icon, you can also see a weapon ugrade icon. Dragonfable has thousands of cool weapons and customization, I think creating a build and coming across these items in a randomized roguelike environment would be so interesting. What do you think?
