siris99 -> RE: weapon conception and creation tutorial (6/24/2006 19:53:15)

Out of curiosity, what does that have to do with my tutorial?

VampireHSS -> RE: weapon conception and creation tutorial (6/24/2006 20:13:38)

Pointless post/spam, just ignore it, siris.

siris99 -> RE: weapon conception and creation tutorial (6/26/2006 14:27:18)

I have added a paint tools explanation section, as it is the program i use. let me know if it helps any.

siris99 -> RE: weapon conception and creation tutorial (8/8/2006 0:30:52)

Added new tut for the creation of a beam sword, with a basic handle. let me see you attempts and variations! It is step by step, provides the color luminosities and the like even. Easy to use even for non-ms paint regulars.

Also, if you have any complaints, please let me know!

Dragon Longsword -> RE: weapon conception and creation tutorial (8/13/2006 6:25:25)

Exlent tutorial! Now I can finally do exlent work with MS paint!I found out a way how to make things looking 3D (under the first part I'll put a part with pictures (no pictures around the Image and the box bit, sorry)):

1.Click on Image.
2.Click on Stretch/Skew...
3.You see Stretch in one rounded rectangle and Skew in another. Now,click on either boxers which you can type in numbers.Experiment for best results.

0. Begining picture.
4. Completed product.56 and 56 degrees to the right.

And could you try and please cover staffs, axes and bows?It would help ALOT!Thanks!

siris99 -> RE: weapon conception and creation tutorial (8/13/2006 21:24:54)

siris99 -> RE: weapon conception and creation tutorial (9/11/2006 0:52:50)

sorry, I have been very busy, so extra tuts may take some time.

on a positive note: i condensed the beam sword tut in a simple image, url is on front page.

Nickwright -> RE: weapon conception and creation tutorial (10/6/2006 21:15:18)

Nice design I would suggest adding Shading like this: http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/9664/untitledqk5.png
and Remember Custom Colors are your friends

zargor the dragon -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (10/29/2006 11:00:28)

Well, I tried the sword tut and the elaborate handle one and this is what i got:

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l133/zargor-the-dragon/Swordofdoom.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l133/zargor-the-dragon/elaboratebladeofdoom.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l133/zargor-the-dragon/Axe.jpg

Skidmark121 -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (11/3/2006 22:49:34)

This is awesome! On a whim, I pulled up MS Paint and tried this out.
My first time doing something other than cheating on scores at minesweeper (Don't ask, it's a joke between my sister and I) in MS Paint, and I've got a basic sword ^^ I'm happy.

Beam Sword
Basic Sword

Thanks a ton!

.I_Period -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (11/3/2006 23:47:02)

The beam sword was pretty cool.

siris99 -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (11/11/2006 14:27:29)

Chameleonare: my only complaint is spike placement

zargor: good job, though you may want to lengthen the blade on the elaborate handled one.

skidmark: good job on those

to all: I am slowly working on converting all tutorials into easy to use image form, instead of all of this text and click to see one example stuff.

dominic_r_monroe -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (4/3/2007 15:31:52)

siris told me to bump this with my tut so here it is

1 .lets make a beam thing so start of with a colour on a lum of 120
2. drag it down in a straight line
3. change the lum to 60
4. repeat 2 with your new colour but next to the line
5. change the lum to 80
6.repeat 4 with new colour
7. now copy and pate with the tranparency on white and move on left side
8. now switch colour to black and start a box in a corner make sure its rather big
9. now change lum to 70
10. make a smaller square inside that
11. keep changing lum by 20 till you've got quite small not into pixels just so its visible
12. select round it by transparency and skew by horizantal by 60-70
13. select it again copy and paste move copy to an un-used area
14. move original to the top
15. select beam and rotate by 90 degrees
16. move under the first wing at the top
17. now select the bottom wing
18. flip horizantally
19. move to the wings at the top and line the ends up the move down a titch till it looks like a bird
---------Optional------
20. copy your result paste
21. flip vertically
22. move so its touching the other side

siris99 -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (4/3/2007 15:38:12)

dominic_r_monroe -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (4/3/2007 16:14:23)

i think this thread'll be up againb for some time now

EragonZZZZ -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (4/3/2007 16:41:06)

Quick paint question: I don't use paint for much other than concepts, but when you control + click on a color in the bottom palette it does something odd to the background of your primary/secondary color selection. What is THAT for?

PS: Crazy good tutorials, especially seeing as you're using paint. :)

dominic_r_monroe -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (4/3/2007 16:45:08)

well transparency what is transparent and rubber colour its like bg colour in gimp , photoshop

EragonZZZZ -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (4/3/2007 17:37:49)

Whoa..i didn't quite understand that....

siris99 -> RE: Weapons: concept, creation. MS paint guide too. NEW: beam sword tut (4/3/2007 17:38:27)

Eragon, if you click using say the pen tool and have control held down, it will go to that tertiary color. Paint pretty much let's you have three colors of your choice available when you need it. and thx.
