Doomsday -> RE: Pets/Guests (1/29/2007 22:06:57)

It isn't. Element Void is Element X, and only the new monsters (eg. Dragons, and the newer war monsters) can display the new icon as well as element type. They are one and the same.

jimbo32 -> RE: Pets/Guests (1/30/2007 0:46:32)

The 'pedia entry for the Chilly guest is way off. The level 60 version is listed as healing 8 HP/MP 33% of the time, and attacking 67% of the time.

It actually heals 7 points, and does it about 80% of the time. I'm not sure about the damage or the other levels, but since the other numbers are wrong they should probably be re-checked as well.

The Nerfkitten attack rates seem to be wrong, I believe each attack should be the 0 CHA rate + .25*Player CHA

For example, the Lvl. 10 Nerfkitten-

ATTACK 1

Rate: 24% + (0.50% * [Player CHA]) (Maxes at 50%)

should be

Rate: 24% + (0.25 * [Player CHA]) (Maxes at 50%)

ATTACK 2

Rate: 24% + (0.50% * [Player CHA]) (Maxes at 50%)

and

Rate: 24% + (0.25 * [Player CHA]) (Maxes at 50%)

Overall this would give an attack rate of 47% +(0.50 * [Player CHA]) which matches the original attack rates listed when the pet first came out.

I think you're correct. It may also be helpful to include the following info, which IIRC came from Kalanyr:

quote:

For the level 10 Pet:
Charisma 0 = 47% Attack Rate
Charisma 40 = 67% Attack Rate
Charisma 110 = 100% Attack Rate

For the Level 60 Pet:
Charisma 0 = 27% Attack Rate
Charisma 80 = 67% Attack Rate
Charisma 150 = 100% Attack Rate

For the level 90 Pet:
Charisma 0 = 7% Attack Rate
Charisma 120 = 67% Attack Rate
Charisma 190 = 100% Attack Rate

Numbers in between the above are of course in between the two values on either side, in general every 2 points of Charisma under/over is -/+ 1% Attack Rate (respectively)

http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=7923798&mpage=1&key= Description is wrong..

It should be: The traditional pet of warriors in the mystical Asgir'Rook tribe, this giant lizard is given power by the tattoos of the tribe.

Delta 57 Dash -> RE: Pets/Guests (2/4/2007 7:40:42)

The BVD (level 55) is listed as doing 8-11 damage, however often I see hits of 12-14, but I ONLY started seeing hits of the higher numbers (13 and 14) once I raised my Cha up.

EDIT: here is a pic of my level 55 BVD doing 14 damage to the stat trainer. My cha is 60 at this time.

Correction. Galrick does the elemental damage of your weapon. So if you use a wind spell and you have a fire weapon, even tho you used a wind spell to attack he still does a fire damage.

Hybee_zard -> RE: Pets/Guests (2/9/2007 7:32:34)

BTW do you notice Galrick's shirt has "EBIL" written on it?

In fact the text is "100% EBIL" - 100% is white, EBIL is red.

Also: Garlick has a very high BTH. Fighting (melee) a sneak on a plain (90 defense) hits about 2/3 times.

Deadeye Cupid is Guardian-Only.

i got a image cupid's paralyzation thing

Delta 57 Dash -> RE: Pets/Guests (2/14/2007 21:12:36)

it does between 1-3 rounds, doesn't' matter if cupid attacks again. My cupid kept the seeker paralyzed for about 9 rounds [8D]

That was the easiest fight ever.

Doomsday -> RE: Pets/Guests (2/15/2007 7:33:37)

According to Rayf, the stat to resist Paralyze is END as well. Paralyze is more easily resisted as compared to freezing at this point in time, but no formulas has been released yet, thats what I got off IRC.

only a little incorrect:
quote:

Lets see.

The Freeze Resistance is continuous not discrete. A monster has a .25% per point of Endurance chance of resisting freeze.
The Custom Weapon,Lycan Bow & Vamp Spear are all bugged in the same fashion. They'll all be fixed and rereleased at the same time. Probably sometime in the next 48 hours.

Paralysis is like Freeze except:
1) Fire resistance does not increase
2) Ice resistance and ice type does not provide defence.
3) A monster that is immune to freezing or paralyzation is not necessarily immune to the other.
4) A monster has a 0.4% chance per point of Endurance of resisting paralyze.

Freeze vs Paralyze
A monster that is Frozen or Paralyzed will automatically resist the other status effect (ie you can't freeze a paralyzed monster or vice versa).

Monsters Blocking when Frozen/Paralyzed
This still makes sense to me. Remember in AQ that defence represents incredibly hard skin, sheer toughness, etc as well as agile dodging. Being a block of ice doesn't really make a Terropains shell any softer.

Side Notes:
Frostbite still only has the chance to 2 turn freeze once per battle if that gets resisted a monster will only be frozen for 1 turn from subsequent Frostbites. I might play with that a bit so the 2 turn flag is only set if the Freeze takes effect.

Fire Orbs to Ice Crystals. Yeah, I'll take care of that too (if Cap doesn't). That one at least is an easy fix.
