Okay, I'm Smalls, I just became an AP, so here's my poems... Thanks to Ana_Maria for the name :D CC...Kinda forgot, thanks Helix Why I loved you, but you never knew. I loved you, only for a day then you broke my heart. And now I stand, with a smile painted on my face like one of those porcelain dolls. Trying to be happy for you. A cold, heavy heart broken for the first time. Why did you pick her? Why couldn't you realize I loved you? Why couldn't you see that maybe one day, you'd love me too? Shadows I stood in the shadows, waiting, waiting. For you to see me. I stood in the shadows waiting, watching. You walk past me. I stood in the shadows, waiting, sighing. You never saw me. I stood in the shadows, waiting, hoping. That one day you would love me too. Dreams I had dreamed 'bout those dreamy eyes. But they never saw me. I had dreamed 'bout a serenade. That you would never give me. I had dreamed, 'bout something that would happen. You and me. I had dreamed, 'bout you. But you never dreamed about me. Facade I wanted to be "cool" to "fit in" So I put on a facade that led me astray of the true me. The scorned you, for things that you liked, that I liked too, but in that facade, I hated them, and laughed along. I laughed along beliving that the music I listened to, that they listened to, was cool, but I hated it. They lauged at things that I liked, but I hated in this facade. You saw through my facade, took my hand and led me away from the things that led me astray. And helped me rediscover, the real me. Cool To be cool they say you have to like this not that. Love the things that I hate hate the things that I love. To be cool they say you have to listen to rap but not that. I would follow, blindly trying to fit in but in truth, I just hated me more. Because the real me wasn't cool to them but to you, I was the world. Beautiful Love won Love lost. What's the difference? Both end painfully. Both begin with one person. Both end with one person. How is it that one is so celebrated? Yet the other is so hated? Love in its very essence is painful, yet it can be so very beautiful. Stronger Who is stronger? The man with his head held high. Who scorns and laughs at the ones less lucky than he. Or is it the man whose many years in the field have made his hands rough and raw. Yet he looks on with kindness in his wise old eyes. Even when his head is held low, his back hunched from the many years in the field. It is truly he who is stronger. For being strong means being kind, and to never scorn, to be the stronger person. Speck of Hope What has happened, to the respect that people used to hold? The love, the kindness, the family bond? Has it disappeared? You've barely heard a news coverage of a heartwarming tale. Only of war, hatred, killing. Yet in the dark of today's world there always is that single, tiny, loving speck of hope. Unique A flake floats down from the heavens. So small, so unique How is it that we do not stop and stare in amazement at every single one of them? The patterns so small, so unique, so beautiful Are a world of wonderment proving that to be unique is to truly be great. A Perfect World How many people hold on to their faith? Their love? Their hope? so little people hold on to the important things. But grab onto Hate Violence Fear. Ignorance breeds fear. Fear breads hate. If we could be more studious Pay more attention Be patient Them maybe we'd have A perfect world. Kids Again What has happened to Hop-scotch 4 square Ring Around the Rosie? Games we played children. Games we hate as teens. Can't we forget our age? Our race? Our family line? To be kids again To go back to simple games like Hop-scotch 4 square Ring Around the Rosie? Games that didn't care what race you were. What you family name was. Just having fun. Being kids. Living life to it's fullest. Otherwise Known as School Rows of cold metal Pressing in on me. Closed doors Caging me in. The only relief The teens talking, playing, eating. The grease of the lunch Burning me like a witch on the stake. The teacher's evil glare Shooting lasers at me. This is purgatory otherwise known, as school. A New Jail mate Whimpering, Barking, Howling, Nobody hears me. Scratching, Clawing, Biting, Nobody sees me. Alone in the dark of my jail, my cage. They left me Alone, Scared, Angry. So they could Have fun, Party, See friends. While I'm stuck here in this Purgatory, Jail, Hell, Cage. I bark, Howl, Whimper more. Now I hear a new bark. Of a new dog, A new friend. A new jail mate. An Ode to Internet Memes Shoop da Whoop imma chargin' mah lazer. A classic internet meme desu. Never gonna Give you up! Let you down! Run around and desert you! Make you cry! Say goodbye! Tell a lie, and hurt you! Desu But for all that when I handed you the cake you never knew, it was a lie, desu. But for now watch out desu! For it's the pedobear desu! Oh god no desu! It's over 9000 pedobears desu! Even when imma firin' mah lazer, desu! They keep coming back desu! But I c wut u did thar, desu! With the internet memes coming back desu. This is truely an ode to internet memes, desu. A lesson to be learned I never knew what to say To write To ask When I wanted you To see me To hear me To love me I had my chance To say To write To ask But I never took it I never had the confidence to ask you To see me To hear me To love me But this is just another lesson to be learned Everyone learns it at some time so Be brave Be confident Be bold And take your chance Like I Never took mine A Broken Heart You tried to seduce me You pleaded with me To let you go, alive But after what you've done What you've said I'm not letting you go To breath your fire onto some other unwilling girl To seduce her To hurt her Like you hurt me Though I'd never really kill I will hurt you Like you hurt me Tear your heart to shreds Like you tore mine I will kill your faith in the world In love Like you killed mine I hate you more than anything else in this world For Stuff They Did They annoyed me too much Too often When I retaliated they hated me for stuff they did themselves Those hypocrites scorned me Hurt me Killed me For stuff they did themselves The tale of hypocrisy to it's extreme Where people hurt me for things they did themselves Step Up What would you do when it's time to Step up and do the right thing? Will you jump for it? Go the extra mile? Or will you Sit back and watch the horror take place? So many choose the latter leaving the former to die off. So when the time comes step up and do the right thing A Broken Toy I called you on the telephone last night. But you never answered. You were out with your new girl. A replacement for me. Like I was a a replacement for someone else. You threw me away Like a broken toy And left me A broken heart A broken trust. I warned her what you do But she didn't care Like I didn't care You called me useless Why? Because I was replaceable to you? It was cynical of you To break my heart And throw me away. One Step Forwards, Two Steps back Where has all the love gone? It seems to have been replaced with hatred And angst Two things replace one One step forwards Two steps back One step is love Two steps are hatred and angst Ruining our world. The Performance Pencils scratching out names on their papers A teacher shushes her abundence of kids as they talk during her performance. Her lecture Her performance drags on for seemingly hours Days Years When it's really only a few minuets The kids saved by the bell Ode to Fan-girls Fan-girls, oh fan-girls of twilight Crazy as a bat Obsessing over Edward Cullen A fictional character but I doubt they know that! Fan-girls, oh fan-girls of The Killers Obsessing over Brandon Flowers who's as lovely as a dove! By jove! What is that?! A fan-boy How is that possible? But alas this is an ode to fan-girls not fan-boys maybe another day. Every time Last night you sang a song In your blue jeans For me But I never heard I was asleep I'm here to say I'm sorry For everything I've done For every time I've hurt you For every time I've never heard you The Killers The crowd screams as the band comes on stage The slight frontman walks on stage like an electrocuted chicken Or so people say The guitarist walks in his long frizzy hair bouncing with each step The bassist comes along cool, collected, quiet. By far the tallest member of the band. Finally the never serious drummer walks on stage Drumsticks in hand, ready to play his heart out The crowd grows silent in anticipation as the first note is played The first word is sung The first song begins With one note, one word They start They play Until very late into the night With encores and cheers They play their songs Frontman Brandon Flowers dancing like an electrocuted chicken Then suddenly he stops waiting for the crowd to sing the infamous line I got soul but I'm not a soldier Over and again Then with the crowd lamenting the concert is over, so a new city A new crowd Can hear Can play Can sing With The Killers Happy IRCopaversy I came along without a clue I came into there new And scared You helped me out Like countless others who've come along Over the course of a year Many people have come in and out of #Help To stay for one moment to get whatever was wrong fixed Only a few have stayed You've made an impact on my life Like on so many other's lives For that I thank you And wish you a happy IRCopaversy Writer's Block Why can't I get these words on paper? Some people call it "writer's block" Others will call it "Laziness" But I just call it me. A lousy poet who can't even drop a rhyme! Yet now I look on this paper and I see a poem! A real life poem! On this page! This poem on Writer's Block! How ironic it is that this turned into a poem! An actual poem! Footprints I walked upon the white of snow Heard the crunch of it beneath my feet. Saw the trail of footprints behind me. Showing me the way I've come Showing me the journey I've done That trail of footprints haunts me It's a trail of my lies That I tried to escape from That I couldn't escape from But I tried and tried to leave that place The white that I once dreamed of Sickens me Seeming to turn red with the blood of those I've slain The crunch that I once adored Reminds me of what I did in battle Those heads I've cracked open with a swing of my mighty hammer The footprints my trail of lies Kill me Maim me Destroy me As I run back Over my blood-stained Trail of lies The Beat of the Music meghan (6:18 PM): I sit
