Knowing that improving game quality would be a better way to make money, the developers must have some kind of reason to keep the prices high, don't you think? It's just that we can't find out what that reason is (and the more you look for something, the less probable it is to find it :P)

@soul
Wanna know what I think (and have thought for the past few days)? I think the devs have already realized their mistake, but want to take no chances. If they fix it all at once, a good part of the paying player base will be gone, and if they never fix it, then the others will quit eventually, which would lead to the downfall of ED. I believe they are now attempting to slowly fix everything to keep both player bases while improving the game (no profit loss).

How would fixing the prices make players quit? If anything it would get older to players to come back.

@Mr. Black OP
There are some that spam varium only for easy wins and quit as soon as they realize that life is not as easy as they think.

Oh so did you mean fixing the gap between varium and non varium? Because they would just spam less varium and get the same advantage if you still meant pricing.

Big time reason for hating to come in GD section, I rather stay in Q&A. :/

Totally agree with this post. I've tried to bring up some of these same points only to be flamed by the latest "I will buy every latest varium package to stay on top" players. Finally, we have some classic players - someone like T.600 - basically a founder, who has come around to his senses. In short, this game is way too expensive for those who want to stay on top and is completely different than all the other AE games. Any company that calls itself "indie" shouldn't be charging exorbitant prices for a flash pvp game - essentially a pay-to-win model. I've heard from some old players - like Khannibal - that Titan never wanted this to be a pay-to-win game. Originally you paid once to be elite to get an improved inventory forever. This Varium pay-scale has gotten out of hand.
Note: I have never bought Varium, mainly due to this issue, partially due to the increased challenge, so I am really trying to stick up for those who have monetarily supported this game.
I think its time to bring back the "elite" model: Anyone who has purchased a 10K package (or a total of 10K) automatically gets it. In the future, make it a 5 key option.
Then, you have 3 basic levels of items: credit only, elite credit only, varium.
For example: lvl 35 aux: (c-o) 39 damage, 14 stats, 4 enhance; (e-c-o) 40 damage, 20 stats, 6 enhance; (varium) 41 damage, 18 stats, 10 enhance.
This way a pro-elite player will always be competitive with the varium noobs (who now can destroy just based on raw damage,stats and canned builds).
Please lets keep this constructive so the thread stays open!

The only problem with a sudden reduction in pricing would be the severe effect on people who have already purchased a lot of varium and the compensation required for them.

I believe that scaling weapons may aid in terms of balance and ensure that there is less of an obligation to buy the latest weapons.

I have bought 23x 10k packs but I don't want any compensation.

Price reduction is a benefit for the future, it is pointless looking in the past.

Price reductions are happening all over the world for any goods, from clothes to automobiles, and no one complains for compensations.

Of course, brainless kids who only spent money on candies so far may do it, but those should be disregarded.

I feel the same way Drianx. I would hold no grudge, as looking to the past would be selfish, and would only make things worse. This would be for the future of EpicDuel, and I feel as if the majority of paying customers feel the same way. No compensation is needed as long as you change your ways for the future.

Since there are a multitude of points in the original post, here are several notes:

1. Financial discussion is not allowed in this forum.
2. Judging by the content of your post, it reads more like a host of balance suggestions. Use the Balance Discussion Thread instead of trying to circumvent it.
3. The ED Suggestions forum is also open for use.
