personally, i would be happy if they did a complete overhaul of the cards given to skexis. i would not mind so much if he did not get an evo.

@Sith: It was comfirmed by Asu (Or Sage?) that Skexis and AP and VK will get evos. Hopefully they will get better cards and cooler looks.

Reason why I compare the two because they are based on similar forms of concepts while they are different games with different features. I'll compare OS to Pokemon as much as I want because it is one I can relate to next to Monster Rancher.

Plus on the issue of starters, the starters are decent characters to play and though they are not on par as the new characters in terms of power and cards due to the infamous power creep as seen in majority of card games, they can still be decent to use with CC and at higher levels. The starter characters don't suck and I have beaten a VL before pre-CC with Bloodfiend thank you very much.

There's also the leveling/evolve system and the future elemental weaknesses. And turn based combat. So right now, oversoul is basically a simpler version of pokemon with different characters.

And while I can't be bothered to find the quote as i'm not on a computer, I do remember that nulgath himself said that oversoul is heavily based on pokemon and the Heroes of Might and Magic series.

Well, Thanks to CC, The power creep of characters can be some what negated.

The only problems with that are the people who don't have the funds (SG or igg) to use CC.

To those people I would not recommend using starters...

Go for queeny! she's pretty awesome.

Can you count Queen Aegea as a strong light character even without CC? if not which light character is strongest?

Well, Paladin is the strongest light character of course!

Do you have Templar?

if not, go for him.

He's a clunky FC basically.

but if you have him already go for the queen. or seraphim, since he can be a really tanky healer.(with CC)

Queen aegea is definitly amazing even without CC, but I highly recommend it as the fights can become painfull long if you don't have empower, holy strike or corruption on her. Se also benefis greatly from penances. I'd actually say that templar/FC is better if you don't have CC, simply because they will not be a pain to level and they can still wreck some havok in pvp.

Well i checked both decks and i already have Paladin .. darn Templar's deck is like ... MEAN .. i'll go with templar.. Queen Aegea maybe some what more likely to last longer in a fight but ... stil .. 4 500 attacks e.e
by the way what's penance ?

@stranger yea, Templar sounds like your best bet right now.




Penance- Discard 1 card to heal for 600.

load up those baby's in a seraphim deck and prepare for a long match.

I'd suggest adding two penances, a shield and 2 holy strikes.

also, my general setup for queen aegea. I will do some modifications depending on the opponent.

I was scrolling through the homepage when I saw the "Combo Bonus Coming Soon!" and I got excited. I mean, this seems like a big change. We might be getting something game changing.

Then AQ is JUST like Pokemon too, amirite? I mean, it has Level Ups, different "Characters" (different classes, armors, and builds), is turn-based, and there are elemental weaknesses. In that case, EVERY AE game is based around Pokemon. Except, you know, they aren't. While Nulgath did say he liked it and said there would be similarities, all of you are making them out to be carbon-copies. I don't get it.

Also, any character can beat another. Saying that Blood Fiend defeated an FC or they can become decent does not, in any way, make them better than a Dread Fiend. You can prefer them, but saying they're "better' is wrong mathematically.

We are saying it is close to Pokemon due to the mechanics of capturing and evolving. I don't understand the vendetta of us stating our opinion of it being like pokemon. I didn't say it was a carbon copy, all I was stating it is like Pokemon. Did anyone here mention AQ was like Pokemon? Please respect our opinions towards this comparison because whether you understand it or not does not bring out this type of criticism.

Any character can beat another because all it is to this game is through luck and card strategy utilization. Once the combo system comes out, characters like Peasant will become strong to face Legendaries.

@char that means filling your CC with one and two hits could be a viable strategy.

that would be awesome.

PvE battles should be a lot faster since veterans and apprentices in PvE don't usually do combos, so the player will have all the advantage. I'm looking forward to the rest of the features now that they're actually integrating things like combo bonuses and card customization. So far we're missing stats, artifacts other than X-Boosts, the Grand Quest, team battles, elemental resistances, and cards dropping from characters.

I just remembered another feature, Nulgath said that he plans to make it possible to charge two elements at once so dual-element characters would work better and not require cards like Neutralize. If it works with every character though, CC could really ruin the balance.

@Jop I think Nulgath meant if you charged up, and got 5 for one element, it would carry over for the other, which I think is a lot better than the current system.
