If one element had only one strategy I don't think people would appreciate that element very much, so Shadow does have multiple ways of playing. The other way focusing around attack cards, or at least not playing only DoTs and shields. Dread Fiend I think is a pretty good example of this, if you can manage the cost right then you can add in a lifedrain to help make all those blood drains bearable, along with another MoD so you're not completely countered by VR and Counter-attack. Cyber Void is a unique situation in that if you get an early Energize and then a few attack cards you're in a pretty good position and there's a good chance you'll win. If you don't get the early Energize then you'll be behind your main damage combo which can really hurt you, so saying there is only one reason to play Shadow is like saying you only play Fire for the Fireballs and Meteorites, it completely ignores another strategy.
