Falerin, these forums, and the caelestia server are the origin point of my interest in fantasy writing. A hobby that's shaped my young and adult life and led to many lasting friendships, including meeting my wife. Though he did not know me well, I knew and admired him as the man and the legend.

Rest in peace, Loremaster. Gone, but never forgotten.

Any way we could have this merged with the permanent Fal remembrance thread from Cray just so that ALL his tributes are preserved for the future?

We can look into it later but merging isn't very "clean" of a process, it's likely to mess things up order wise. ~afterlifex

The question has been raised: "I wonder what the circumstances were? ". Rather than have a lot of speculation and rumor I will tell you that Falerin had a massive heart attack. He died in his sleep and we would like to believe peacefully.

This is sad to hear.

I was recently talking about how much I appreciated Falerin's writing, and the sheer amount of depth and backstory he managed to add to Lore kept me interested in AQ even during the years I wasn't playing.

Thanks for everything, Falerin, may he rest in piece.

This is one of the most personally devastating pieces of news I've heard recently. As with so many others in this community, either long gone or still around, Falerin's work on this game had a major influence on me. There are no words that I know of to express how deeply saddened I am to hear this, or words of condolence to give to his family and friends. No matter if you were a Truthseeker, a Speculation and Theories enthusiast, a forumite, a lunch break warrior, a devoted fan, anyone who was connected even tangentially to not only AdventureQuest but to the Artix Entertainment community entire should be touched by this news. Falerin was an amazing writer and a wonderful man, and he'll be sorely missed by everyone who still remembers the joy he brought with his stories and life.

I have been playing AQ for many years and Falerin's writing has always been great. I did not get to interact with him personally much but I know that whenever he interacted with people on the forums, he was always so kind. I will be replaying his stories when I have the time for sure. Rest in peace Loremaster. #BattleOnFalerin

I love AQ in large part due to the effort, passion and attention to detail which goes into the writing of its adventures. In that regard, Falerin was a fundamental figure, and an inspiration and aspiration for me when I still took English classes. I was too young to experience much of the Carnax and Devourer sagas, but I will always remember Falerin's presence in replays of the Devourer saga, as well as the various other sagas following them which he penned. Although the game experience of some of those quests are long outdated, they are worth revisiting for Fal's unique stories.

Thank you Falerin being a Loremaster in the truest sense of the word. May you rest in peace, and my sincerest condolences to Eldron and your family.

Absolutely awful news to hear. While not much of a writer myself, I've always been impressed by the depth of Falerin's work. I have good memories checking in every week for the next installment in the Devourer saga. He will be missed by us all.

Fal was always my favorite writer for the game. His quests really made you think and look beneath the surface. I am blessed to have been able to experience all of them over the years. I wish I had gotten to know him better before this happened. He will be forever remembered by this community.

Oh wow.. I saw this and just find it hard to swallow. Have taught me a little bit of English literacy back in the days.. He was such a kind teacher who taught me basic English when I was struggling. My condolences to the family and friends!

This is very sad and unexpected news. My condolence to his family and friends.
Not sure if we should be continuing with this thread as I notice Cray has started a thread here.

I say this to AQ staff - think of a way how the players who love his work so much could make donations to help out his family - whether a separate site or whatever method there is for that. Two years back i lost 3 members of my family in 1 year so i know all too well how taxing those events are (and not only mentally but financially as well). So please - make it so those who appreciated his art could help out as well.

Can a staff member think of a way how we can donate to his family, please? Thanks in advance.

In Memory of Falerin:
We celebrate the life of legendary Loremaster and incredibly talented writer, Falerin Ardendor. Head over to the Loremaster's Library in the Isle d'Oriens and play all of his most iconic events. Travel to Deren and visit the memorial for Falerin, and also find the commemorative item - the LoreMaster’s Tome.

Falerin wrote many amazing stories that I've enjoyed over the past 15 years.
I'll never forget the well-crafted ARG-style things that he no-doubt contributed to, those were fun to work through collaboratively on these forums.
I specifically remember a command-line style flash thing themed after the Matrix and trying to figure out the countdown. He is messed.

I've been away for a while, too long it seems since I only just now heard of this. Rest In Peace Falerin, one of the biggest and best of this community. May your legacy as a writer, a friend, and a family man live on.

Wow.... thats tragic. I feel like death has been omni-present lately. I actually lost a friend to suicide. I only found out a few weeks ago we were best friends in elementary. Life is a precious thing and there are always people out there that care about you. AQ has been a big part of my life and the quests Falerin wrote were always a blast if a little complicated and challenging compared to the regular fare. Infact me and this friend played AQ together... Idk what else to say I'm really saddened by everything going on lately. RIP.

I have been playing this game since the beginning (lost first account due to my own fault and made a new one 13 years ago) and well, Falerin was just part of this world.
I was shocked to hear this news and couldn't believe it.
May you rest in peace Loremaster!!!
