Secundus is kind of just a long and annoying fight. Flesh of Nature should be used before you try to deal damage at the beginning of the battle to prevent his nasty HoT from undoing all your progress; Tickles can also help with this if you have access to it. Every time the HoT is applied, it loses one turn of duration. After 6 uses, it is not an issue anymore, but he can be killed before this even with standard story gear. It is not necessary to shield the attacks that scatter your threads unlike Forto, where it is recommended to shield as many of his alternate attacks as possible, because you can shield the annihilation snap when he has already scattered your threads 6 times; it lacks extra Bonus so this is no issue. However, some of these attacks will be shielded anyway because Secundus inflicts quite threatening debuffs during his rotation and also uses a quite powerful nuke towards the end of it. Slough Skin can be used for the debuffs to conserve Flesh of Ice for the nuke, with Dragon Scales being saved for Annihilation. As the previous comment said, Slough Skin's effect immunity can also be used to prevent the annihilation effect from being applied. The next point can also help against his nuke: Every time he uses his healing skill (the one where his neck band covers his entire body and he becomes blurry for a small time), he additionally shifts the effects of his Duality buff; the defensive version (Roirr) grants him +50% Damage Resistance and +60 Avoidance and Defense, making him very bulky and annoying to damage, further compounded by the HoT, whereas the offensive version (Vaal) grants him +100% Boost and +60 Bonus, making him hit more accurately and about twice as hard. You can personally cycle these effects by stunning him, so train your Dragon 1 Point in Mischief for access to Dragon Fumes, the rest can be allocated elsewhere. Morbid Cage is also additionally useful here because it lowers his defenses, so you can transition him from the defensive to the offensive mode without needing to increase your Bonus and vice versa while still dealing damage for a few turns. You should force him into the offensive mode of Duality when you intend to damage him and into the defensive mode when you intend to recover, although you can time things such that this happens naturally. Once you manage this, congratulations! You have unlocked Flesh of Fire, which is one of the best skills in the game for just how much it does, and Fleshweaver is at more than double power whenever you use it.
