somebody621: lol, soooo complicate...... actually I use a very creative way to make this game, so I have only 24 lines of code in the entire game lol(well, 26, because there's a stop and removeMovieClip statement in the enemy MC)
I'll upload the code later(some bugs need to be fixed)

remember dont make it too easy for me, leave some on clip event handlers out or "accedentally" make mistakes. (but dont make it too hard)

lol i havent asked questions in a while...must be getting better lol.
anyway, how would i make a exp counter+level up-er (if u get wot i mean) for a rpg? its hard and i cant get it right.....

So many people are now just asking for direct codes. I think it should be better to just give the logic if it's complex and let the user figure out how to code the syntax. If the user does not understand a particular part of the code, he or she should ask I don't have a problem with that; just with people taking code for granted and asking for it. Everything takes some logic and planning, and I think you should take the time to relax and just make a plan or a chart to help you visualize the code.
For example, for Crimson Dragon

--------------------------------------------------------
when the person does an action to acquire exp
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
immediately add exp
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
if and only if the exp happens to be above the amount of exp needed
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
set the amount of exp back to zero, increase level and stats, etc.
--------------------------------------------------------

If you don't understand the code, take the time and learn everything about it and how it works. There is a ton of info on the front page. How else do you get better?

no, flash is top of the hierarchy and probably above flash 8 is swift(3D studio) and flash studio so just stick with flash.

Well swift 3D is more of a tool to use with things like flash. But the best of programs ive seem of those sorts is Director, look it up, its also part of the macromedia range but its mostdefinantly for pros. many cartoons have been made using it. But if your just starting and want to get into 'website design' get dreamweave. Realy I see fireworks as a 'brush' to the canvas that is flash, kinda like using photoshop.. If you want the tools of fireworks and want to do animation, rich web content and games, get flash. If you soley want to stick to web design go for dreamweaver. heres some stats 99% of web browsers are flash content enabled. 50something% of expert web designers use dreamweaver...

Well, if you mean the maximum size it is (500x100) just use the search function at the top of the screen, the lickleyhood is that someone else has allready asked that question before, or there is a thread with the answer.

Copy&Paste what?... to get your sig setup you host the image or find the link, goto your profile and paste the link in the area in tags like this

all you have to do is save the image to the desktop and drag it in, simple as that. "I no read subject" ive been in the flash help thread since it started... I know this is for flash, doesnt stop people form posting randomly, and besides you edited your post on the previous page, not much chance of me catching that.

roy:It would help if you used proper english. It is much easier on the eyes and can be read easier. It took me quite a while to understand what you were saying. I wouldn't recomend actually stealing images from wikipedia as they can be copyrighted. However, to import an image on to the stage, you can just use the file>import>import to stage and select your picture. Of course you could also use the old fashioned copy and paste directly.
swift 3D is useful for making realistic 3D animations and drawings. It adds a nice depth to the art (kinda reminds me of the art in "Tales of Symphonia"). You are right. Director is the most powerful macromedia product, able to actually render 3D objects(I'm pretty sure), but the programming may be complicated.

Why do you not create your own code? It would be a shame to make a most wonderful game, and only end up to say that you only made the circles. It is not that difficult to make a game like that. A whole resource of code is in the front. Why not make use of it?
It can't be too hard. I'm guessing the toughest part of flsg's code is something like this:
onEnterFrame = function(){
xline._x = circle._x = _xmouse;
yline._y = circle._y = _ymouse;
}
Just get a flow of logic going through your head and just apply it to the code. Take a little time and expiriment with some code that pops up. I can assure you that you get nowhere if people just give you their old source flas.

nvm. i got the die thing i need scor count now. i tried putting a dynamic text box and naming it score and addin this script to the enemy:

on (press) {
_root.score = _root.score+10;
} 


it did not work. any other ways?
