I would assume "MP value for spell cast" means 125% melee unless enemies are on a different standard or something in that regard.

On the note about the Key misc, I agree that if the cost is balanced then having a limit on it is arbitrary or the limit should itself be part of the cost being paid (since it's objectively weaker to have a capped effect compared to an uncapped one). I also believe the mana regeneration part is still in its weird limbo of not stacking with other sources of mana regeneration, I haven't checked whether the fragile can be stacked but if the mana regen part is fixed I'd at least have enough motivation to buy the misc and test.

From what I understand, the new permanent status showing -1 rounds has to have it's specific code updated within each status to introduce new stacking rules, etc...

Just tested the MP regen, and it's not stacking into the perm one. They may still need to update this code, but this may also be one of those where they think it's best not to allow it. We'll see

Weird, none of the statuses applied by the Arcane Rift Key are showing with "-1" duration for me. Have you cleared your cache?

Is fragile working as it should here? If rift key effect is used then another effect to inflict the status follows it, the hp of the target goes to full even with the value on the fragile effect being higher.

Yeah they still show -1 for me. Cleared cache, etc. It doesn't really matter though, those perm statuses are -1 duration whether it shows it or not. They just need specific code to allow for proper stacking. They changed Light Realm Champion's 9999 turn blind to this system, and it caused bugs with other blinds. They were working on this status, too, which my guess has led to dazzle being redone. Light Realm Champion's stacking with other blinds is still acting odd, but different than before..so I'm sure it's baby steps with that one. I would assume fragile/Mana regen, etc are and will be a work in progress.

It's been mentioned to me that the reason the mana regen isn't stacking is because the Key's regen is a fixed amount while the Wingweaver pet (which was the focus of my testing) applies a regen that just has power and a range of healing amounts. It does still feel a little weird to me that the regen doesn't stack (eg a variable amount increasing a flat amount by the average, or a flat amount increasing a variable amount by the appropriate power) such that you can have two different regenerations at the same time, but it's at least not a bug so much as just a funny interaction.

Sounds like the intention is to make these permanent statuses not stack with other items' to make it less OP, which is kind of sad, despite by nature the statuses are the same.

MP Regen: While the Wingweaver pet uses a different implementation of MP Regen, the Dreamweaver's Contempt shield uses the same implementation as the Arcane Rift Key and those two items stack correctly with each other. So there wasn't some special effort to make the MP Regen from Arcane Rift Key not stack with other sources. It just so happens that the devs wanted the MP Regen to be a fixed %melee value rather than be based off of a standard DoT (which uses the expected damage formula), and as stated there is precedent for this being the case in the past as well.

Fragile: Based on my testing true-infinite instances of Fragile cannot co-exist with duration-based instances of Fragile. This behavior is irregular when compared to all other relevant statuses. As such we can reasonably conclude that Fragile has a bug with how it handles stacking with regards to different types of status instances (true-infinite vs. duration-based).

Harm Burn: This is just a Harm Burn, it should stack with other Harm Burns. Not sure what the problem is here.

Now let's talk about Interplanar Last Stand (Arcane Rift Key skill) being usable once per battle. Keep in mind that by applying negative effects to the player and with beneficial effects to the monster, along with the once per battle restriction the skill has a much larger power budget and can do more than a standard skill would be able to do. Based on some very rough napkin math, the skill should be worth about ~200% melee, but by making the skill usable once per battle this is reduced to 150% melee. I think that this is a fair way to balance the misc given that it also provides an elemental resistance and bonuses to INT and LUK.

If there are more of these permanent status, you can fill your inventory with these and inflict it to your enemy and never worry about it again. I can understand no stacking or else it will snowball.

Yeah, thanks for the breakdown. I have come across a lot of explanation towards mechanics/interactions that should or should not exist. But thanks again.

^ It's another case of X is fine but Y isn't. This inconsistent approach is consistent.


You can stack 15 different damage boosts to hit the damage cap per hit, but not stack on top of a perm status at all....stuff like that. Whatdoyado, ya'know?

I'll just be holding out hope that if we get a repeatable fixed mana regen effect, or if mana regens can stack regardless of type, that it happens before the misc leaves rather than after. I'd definitely love to actually interact with the effects of the misc.
