Signature and Art Requests
Barely any Archknights in this position
The Archknights here are either non-active or barely ever log in
No one checks Lock Requests/Questions <-- etc.
----------

AQW Q&A
One or Two active Archknights
Barely anyone checks Questions for Double Posting, Incorrect Sig Uses (More that once per page), etc.
Barely anyone locks threads
----------

Battleon Forums (itself)
I find some Archknights who find someone breaking a rule, that only a Mod can fix, does not advise a Mod. <-- Such as Signature Uses
Double Posting could sometimes be allowed in areas after 24 hours. Some people actually quadruple post in only 2 minute differences. And no one corrects it.
People mini mod and it doesnt get corrected
People actually feel they have to mini mod because Archknights dont check/delete a post that does not belong some where

To fix all that, can we please either input more Archknights in certain areas?
Or can we please at least have the head mod check the activity of other Archknights?

Thank you!
~Zai

The Dragonfable Guides.

The AKs are never on that.

Exquisitely pathological

If you feel that a forum's moderating team is understaffed, contacting the head moderator of that forum is the best way to resolve the issue.

As for your other points:

From what I can see, CA has an active team. 3 AKs seems like enough for a relatively quiet forum. They've all logged in within the last three days, and all have posted in the last month. Where did you get the "barely ever log in" idea?

AQWQ&A. Rather spammy, but has 7 AKs. All of them are active. I don't see why you think that there's only one or two. Double posts and overused sigs have a tendency to slip through because they are the mildest infractions. The AKs here deal with a large traffic flow, so I'd imagine that they're more concerned with flaming/trolling/hacking discussions.

For sig violations (overuse/oversized), we (AKs) do inform mods. I'm constantly working with mods. If I find a bad sig, I request a munch. Where's your evidence that we notice violations and let them slide?

I'm not really sure what the first part means, and how that ties to the next sentence. Double posting is banned as a standard. If a forum allows it, there's a good reason for that. Are you suggesting that double posting should be allowed everywhere?

If no one deals with the violation, poke someone who can.

It's fine to help find the correct place to post. Ordering them around and demanding them to delete/edit their posts, etc. is not. There's a fine line between mini-modding and helpfulness, and people frequently misunderstand that difference. The determination of what constitutes mini-modding is up to the person doing the moderating. If they don't feel it's impolite, then it isn't. Like with all other violations, if you think it's something that needs to be addressed, PM someone who can deal with it.

Oh, and we're all human BTW. We miss stuff too. :P

Adding new AKs is not something that can be done instantly. Potential AK's behavior and activity levels have to be considered. It takes a while to earn the trust to be promoted.

And mods do check our activity levels. It's kind of hard to miss the continued absence of a coworker/employee. :P

Just covering a point The Forgotten hasn't responded to:

Barely anyone locks threads [in AQW Q&A]

Moderating policies differ from forum to forum. In some forums, the head moderator prefers to let a thread fall to the bottom of the page and die on its own rather than locking it, especially if the forum is not particularly spammy or the threads aren't frequently necrobumped by members.

Also...

What you mean, Zaier, is that there are sometimes double posts which aren't deleted or merged even 24 hours after the posts were made, correct? As The Forgotten said, we are humans too (contrary to popular belief, we haven't been turned into robot slaves by the mods), and especially during major releases, we might miss some of the bad posts. So when you notice a bad post which needs the attention of AKs or mods, simply PM one of them with a link to the post and a brief explanation. PMing someone on the moderating team is always better than mini-modding.

As The Forgotten and Z.324 have explained, a mixture of differences in moderating styles between different boards (ie some Q&As making a point of locking all threads, some not) and not seeing the full picture that the moderation team do (such as AKs telling Mods about Signature violations; they do, frequently) is leading to a misconception. We regularly review all forum boards to ensure that everything is covered, however again we are all (mostly) human; sadly, we will miss the occasional double-post in boards where they aren't allowed (hopefully because we're dealing with something more serious, such as flaming).

If you spot something that breaks the rules, always feel free to PM one of the forum moderation team for that board, a list of whom you can find in that board's Rules thread. Minimodding is never ok, although you can give friendly advice if you are contributing to the thread normally; for example, if someone posts a question in a GD board, posting an answer to their question with a short "Next time, you might find answers quicker in [link=]Question & Answer Board[/link]" at the end is ok. Just posting "This belongs in the Q&A board" or "Delete this and post in the Q&A board" is never ok.

As to allowing double-posting; we do this where it makes sense. Everywhere else, use of the edit button should be sufficient.
