I notice Reen post about it and I disagree. Basically the thread itself have some spammer, I agree, but that's nature of PvP. There's also many debate about classes (in fact AE never fix their classes, so what players do is discuss the way to anti classes: ex DL, Rogue...)

The thread having many useful information include:
1/ Help newbie
2/ Discuss strategy and get to know each other in PvP (staff never pvp so I don't think they know anyone in pvp, but we all who post in thread do know each other, which is some thing you can't post in party thread, also that thread is dead)
3/ Know each other: if this is no happened, AE lost themselves like 50 players (that I count players know each other from that thread, include me and a lot more I know)
4/ Some thing that can be discuss which no thread in GD contain

Wrong. The fact that 80% players can get many good from it, include ask build from pro players (mini mod and real strategy noob a lot on Q&A board)
The spammer because of some banned players (system fail, they come back...) and forum spammer posted in. In fact we all know what the thread for

quote:

If you find a BUG in PVP, please use the bugs forum. If you have a well thought out and reasoned post on class balancing, please put it in the bugs thread as well.

2 facts:
1/ we all post in bug board if WE FOUND any bugs, we also research to find if it's really a bug or not (like in old PTR, and still now). In fact, we never complain about a bug, what we do is discuss the effect of the bug because this is PvP, and bug is strategy too. I'm surprised when see staff complain about this, we never ambush or take a bug too seriously and as always we posted it.

2/ AE for 6 months didn't take any actions on classes, we all want to know about it, we discuss, we find a class strong points and weak points to FIND STRATEGY to beat it. In fact we COMPARE classes, we never do anything more than that, as suggestion or complain.

I give you a fact: Defender, when it was Guardian, a lot of people complain about it and AE changed it. But PvP thread rate Defender normally. YES, it has strategy, weak ans strong point. AE listen to people who don't know how to use it and now, you "mute" people who want to "discuss"

Next, about spamming and off topic:
1/ There's a lot of mini mod and flamer in that thread. I wonder if it's the thread, or user?

2. AK and mod have very litter actions over the thread, in fact people get ban easily from other thread, but in this thread, many people already should have warning, A LOT, but as I saw, AK and mod do soo litter.

What I want is bring back the thread. It's a good thread, and the reason to delete the thread is unacceptable.

Hi BlueKatz,

The information Reens was referring to was information for the staff concerning opinion of how PvP worked and how the classes worked and that no new information relevant to those was being produced.

Information and strategies for players (including newbies) already have a home in guides. And Q&A is a valid place to ask for builds, there's no reason pro players cannot give advice there.

AQWs multi-player aspect allows you to get to know each other in game, we have made attempts to allow people to get to know each other on the forums in the past, and it has never turned out well.

With regard to muting, Reens has specifically requested that you post in bugs if you have something interesting to say about class balance.

I'm not sure what you are referring to by things which can be discussed in no other thread, so I can't address that point.

With regard to the spam and offtopic, that thread was heavily moderated, which is another of the reasons it was removed, even with heavy moderation it still appeared bad. And in my experience when threads are like that it is both the users and the topic, the topic causes users to conflict which in turn brings out poor behavior which associates itself with the thread and causes more conflict between people.

Not all Pro PvPer want to be in Q&A, I also remember AK again us hardly when we want to write a PvP guide just because "There's classes guide" but in fact it's different.

What I mean PvP have to place to discuss, you can't post about PvP in any other thread

About the Thread, it's a blank page and people just write on it. I remember there's many other thread like Twitter Thread was spammed a lot, but delete is not a right action to do.

One of the main reason PvP thread is important because not everyone can online same time, like people live in different time zone. The thread not only allow us to post suitable link (we can't say link in game) but it also allow us to give information through time.

1/ AK again us then we first make guide, right now the guide is still in building, the information and discussion was originally from the PvP thread. Strategy change through time, PvP is not a farming guide that you can post like a list. What we do is sharing, learning and teaching.
The Q&A said above

You will be surprised how many players "we" already know through that thread. I can count more than 200 players that I consider as real "PvPer" and mainly by sharing information.

We did post. I think Reen mean about some class balance discussion we made earlier, but i find it's more like classes comparing

(Sorry, I think I can point out easily if I had better English skill :L)

We have received multiple communications on this.
I'm currently looking into a way that the thread can be revamped in order that it be useful to the staff AND appealing to players.
