Its been like 3 days since the hardware failure and they still havent fixed the AQW or MQ folder. Can someone make it clear about WHEN it will be fixed?

Hopefully, the AQW (and MQ and WF and ED and whatever other avatar folders are missing) will be fully recovered once the current server hardware issues are completely resolved.

If for some reason they aren't, I DO have copies and/or locations of every single avatar I have uploaded to the forums since I took over that task a few years back. But rebuilding the folders and re-uploading the avatars manually will take a LONG time, so I'm hoping I won't have to do that.

Just use one of the existing avatars until he gets it fixed.

They don't know. They are trying to fix the avatars. It could take anywhere from a few weeks to a year.
Patience.

They'll bring them back up eventually. For now, a placeholder could work, but if you want an AQW avatar, the best thing is to wait. I'm waiting for them to come back up too, so I can get my old Drakath avatar back. :D

Avatars should start coming back shortly. I've been told that, unfortunately, the avatar folders were an unrecoverable casualty of the server problems.

The good news is that I have copies of most of the avatars, and links to get many of the ones I don't. The bad news is that they're all saved on my PC in an "uploaded avatars" folder... which means that I have to go through and sort them all back into categories before I can upload them. And there are thousands of them. I am working on it, but it's a very time-consuming procedure. As such, you'll most likely start to see avatars trickle back in slowly as I get them organized.

Also, if your avatar is currently broken, you will still have to go reselect a new one from your profile (even if it's ultimately the same avatar). When I re-upload the avatars, they will very likely end up with different filenames, so any existing links to avatars in your profile probably won't work.

You work so hard, Seahawk! Changing names(including mine, thankyouverymuch!), managing avatars... It's just amazing. Thanks for all the work!

Chaos!

I'm sure we all appreciate Seahawk's work in the forums, but this is not the place to express it ;) Considering the folder issue is now solved, thread locked!
