 Hello everyone!

I have an issue with smileys and considering how people here seem to use text smileys almost exclusively, I'd step up and say my opinion is shared. ;)
So this is some kind of request post to add more smileys, chosen well in order to express emotion without looking idiotic, childish or ugly. You can suppress most of the current ones if they are replaced appropriately, if that's a concern.

Anyway here's a quick list. We need a better smile, a better wink, a better nod, arguably a better anger. And a better cool/arrogant, a better sad, a better disgusted, a better embarrassed, a better afraid, a surprised smiley and several others that I don't take time to list.

While it may be annoying to hunt for proper smiley expressing proper emotion and being properly sized, the current smileys serve close to no purpose and an update would be a neat improvement


I mean, look :D


Can you honestly defend that? :D

Dicernment is dicernment and also exists for a reason ;) Anyway I was only amused that I half expected my list of smileys to change to be cropped. (ie. I don't mind) If you see an insult in that, I can't help it ;) Cheers

There are more smileys, It depends on your browser which shows.
But there is a small amount of smileys, though you can always resort to making keyfaces: (:D; D:; x3;ect.)

 :D, :), :p are what I called text smileys. I was asking administrators if they could update the image smiley list with both better looking and better expressing smileys ;)

If you use another forum and they have a list of similes, you can copy the link of the smiley and place image tags around it to be able to use it here .

 Yeah thank you guys :)
I know all these workarounds, but I usually prefer image smileys to keyfaces, and using Image tags to link smileys from external sites isn't very practical is it? ;)

That's why I wish this suggestion would be passed within the mod team and considered. Because currently it's about the same as if this forum had no image smiley at all

actually there were tons of smilies before the great crash...
like 5 times as much as now
but they were all lost. seahawk should have them back sooner of later

yes but the crash was months ago coolboypai, i know its hard to do but most of them should be back by now.

 Heh I'm not talking about those smileys either, they were mostly ugly and/or unadapted to express emotions properly (ie. keyfaces were better). It was a bunch of moglins, swords, some other stuff...nothing pertinent to the purpose I'm talking about. (Though I can understand that people like sword "smilies" ^^)

and seahawk is a very busy guy. give him some time >.>

 Yes, I suppose that would be the thing to do ultimately.

I took a couple minutes and found this half decent list. It's not awesome stuff but still better than what we have. Searching more would be worth it though... This one seems good, it's used by many forums.
