People seriously stop all the complaing about how SUP Mercs rule 2 vs 2 you know why because they HAVE A MULTI!Almost every Tm and BH I see in 2 vs 2 who are 30+ use a 1 vs 1 build Bh use that STR or 5 Foucs build and TM use that Mal+Gun+Aux+Robot build or 5 Foucs build and mercs USE A MULTI build why dont you stop whinging and use your multis to!Bh use reflex boost and Multi Multi improves with Dex and reflex boost boostes it!SO Reflex+Multi - PWNAGE and TM Technian+Multi = PWNAGE they will do alot of dmg!Especially if you 30+ BH and TM enahce your dex and tech just IMAGINE!Stop all the whinging and be creative!

I hate it when my tech mage partner has a multi instead something useful like defense matrix or a malf.


Multi's fail against most 1v1 biulds, because they drain to much energy, 1 assim/atom smasher/ emp and you're plans toast.

Mercs rule 2v2 because they have the best multi- scratch that, the only good multi. Their multi is powered by the best stat in the game: Support. Even though you can't increase its damage with a skill, its damage can't be lowered other than by a shield. Even though it can't be powered it, its still so much more powerful than the other multis. And not being able to be powered up with a skill is more of an advantage especially with its high base damage, it means you don't have to waste energy and skill points to be able to make it more useful. The Bounty Hunter and Tech Mage multis just can't stand up to Artillery Strike. Its one of the best skills in the game while the BH and TM multis are pretty much the worst. Artillery strike also has 10% defense ignore, making it more powerful.

Mercs also have all the right attributes to dominate 2v2. The Bunker Buster + Artillery Strike is so overpowered with high support. Bunker Buster = 25% crit chance with high support will do alot of damage, Artillery strike will do 40 - 60ish with high support and after that the Aux will do high damage as well. That can result in the end of the battle in some situations. Two support Mercs in a team in 2v2 against 1 Merc and a BH/Mage or 2 BH/Mages is an unbalanced battle. Tech Mages can do okay in 2v2 but they will never be able to do what Mercs can. Bounty hunters are just not made for 2v2, they don't have the right skills and they mostly rely on stats to win battles.

A Techincian + Mult or Reflex + Multi combo just costs far too much energy, and in the end Artillery Strike will still be more powerful. 5 focus Tech Mage is really bad unless the player really, and I mean really, knows what they're doing and is good with strategy. Mercs dominate 2v2, I doubt that'll ever change.

On 2VS2's, the multi's need to be a non-rageable because they do damage on 2 opponents at 1 time. The Artiliary Strike needs to be variable, If the player has Hybrid Armor, then the ignorance is activated. The 2VS2 imbalance isn't all about the mercenaries, it's about overpowering and/or stubborn players with high stat builds.

@Nebula What are you talking about?Any class can be made for 2 vs 2.I had a really good BH multi build.Yes Mercs have the greatest multis but still atleast us other classes can boost our multis to make them devasting.It really isnt that hard to think of a good 5 foucs build for mages.Support is NOT the best stat in the game at all.It may be good but it is PURELY luck based you have a CHANCE to crit,deflect and reduces the CHANCE to get stuned its all about chances which chances = luck.Atleast for the other skills they will improve your other skillls directly like def,res,Primary and Secondary dmg and some skills rather then just Aux and some skills.

Few things here


1)You're right that a multi can't have it damage lowed, and that sucks. However, as a 5 focus non multi 2v2 merc, I've never had a non crit multi do more than 30 damage, unless it was a crit. The 10 percent defense thing really needs to be removed, or at least add some extra effects to bounty/mage multi's, multi skills are not something that should have a hierarchy.

2) a merc carrying both bunker AND multi will fail 90 percent of the time. They carry to little energy, making them a prime target for a nice atom smasher, they lack enough skills to deal to with most situations, meaning after their energy is gone their pretty much done, and they can't effectively use both as well as someone who either has a crap load of tech or support.



Imo, you can be a support merc, or a tech merc, but never both.

@Isaiahthemage I know there are good 2v2 builds for all classes. But Bounty Hunters are mainly built for 1v1. I myself, as a Bounty Hunter, had a pretty decent 2v2 build before the Heal Looper nerf, which made it less effective with a 4 heal cooldown. Then I kinda just couldn't be bothered finding another build since I had a good 1v1 build.

@Pyronix15 I meant when used on Bounty Hunters and Mages, really. Should've made it mroe obvious.
Bunker + Artillery is very risky, but with the crit chance you don't need high tech if you want to rely on the luck. But yeah it does fail most of the time.

Multi shot and plasma rain is useless skills , Mercs high defances and High support make them oped in 2vs2 and Artilary is good in 1vs1 too did you see any mage using plasma rain its useless

the thing is Multi improve with dex and plasma improve with Tech what we will do after we use our multi we will not have an other atck , support increase aux dmg + multi of mercs , Oped builds are the ones Improving 1 non energy atck(strike, gun, aux) and 1 skill , this is same for 1vs1 and 2vs2 , at 1vs1 BH and Mercs abuse STR which increase Strike and Massacre or berserker.Mercs are the only class do it in 2vs2

@Turkish Yes they can still dominate 2 vs 2 but Plasma Rain and Multi-Shot are not useless there great for 2 vs 2/Who cares if Mercs have high defences its not like Mages and BH dont nietheir.

@Turkish Yes you are right about that still doesnt make them useless.But I do believe we need to Buff up the BH and TM esoecially TM they need a big buff which is coming with the new Azrael Sword which is probly energy and increases crit rate.And Charfades gun aswell.

I don't understand why this issue hasn't even been fixed yet. It's very obvious that Mercs are overpowered in 2v2.

Bunker + Artillery + Aux + Heal + High Support

Everything just fits in too perfectly.

^Everything except the Bunker. IF you Bunker'd, Multi'd and healed it would cost you 91 energy. The Bunker doesn't fit in there, at least if you mean about a good build.
Bu yeah that is a devestating combo.

Support. Support, that's why!

What does Support do for Mercs? Artillery Strike, Field Commander, and Artillery Strike (the best Multi attack BY FAR), not to mention ridiculously overpowered Field Medics that fit in perfectly with their Support Builds.

Why do Mercs spam Support? Hybrid Armor. Hybrid Armor basically gives Mercs tons of extra Dexterity Points. Free Stat Points, enabling Mercs to use their ridiculous Support Builds.

Sure, you could argue that the other Passives are free Stat Points. But if you think about it, other Passives are limited. Shadow Arts is an all or nothing Skill. A Deadly Aim boosted Gun has a Cooldown. Reroute and Blood Lust... well, they're limited by the way you or your opponents play.

What ever happened to creativity? I'm sick of seeing the same dumb Support Builds, over and over again.
