I wrote this topic because i saw something very unusual happening . My deadly aim skill is at lvl 6 , meaning it gives 23% more power to my gun shot . So far so good . My bludgeon is at lvl 1 , thus it has to give +29 to my staff shot . Both of them are physical . Why the heck does my gun always hit higher than my bludgeon . The range of bludgeon is broken ,it's hitting less than it's supposed to ... Has anyone else noticed that?

Let's just use in one area instead A Comprehensive Balance Discussion to discuss for balancing. Thanks. :) ~AVA

DA increases your gun damage by 23% so it only goes by gun damage. Bludgeon works like strike so it takes your total damage range, subtracts your opponents defense, then increases by 23%. Bludgeon works better with str because it increases your damage range.

@Above. Thats not what he meant. For example if you had 40 str you would do 10-12 damage plus 29% (not damage, PERCENT) plus your staff damage. Deadly aim adds damage to your gun using percent. If you have a gun that does 32 damage( which is higher than 10-12 damage from your damage range) the 23% would add the damage to the gun, not the damage range.

Aaaaah , so that makes bludgeon an even less valuable skill . Thanks

The math in this game is very confusing.

I agree that the math in this game is confusing. It took me a while to get this in my head.

I don't see what's so confusing about this.

I'm 1.2k varium down from getting azrael, switching to TM, then switching back. *sad face* (with enhancements)

OT: I wish that more TMs used Bludgeon, it is very useful and is a "deadly aim" of the staffs in physical form.

Yes I have noticed this as well. Lets start from the beginning. I have a 4 focus build and my str is 44 which mean 11-14 strength damage. My staff has a base damage of 32 while my gun is 31(deadly aim lvl 8 or adds 26% of gun damage)which means if I were to add my damage with focus for bludgeon, the current base damage of bludgeon is 60-63 while my gun will be 55-58.What I noticed in this part is very weird. My opponent had 21-26+1 defense and I remember when I used bludgeon, it did only 29-33 damage while as for my physical gun, it did 32-35 which is very weird....so in my hypothesis, whenever using a skill that increases a % of damage, it is more likely to ignore the amount of focus you have and will always deal with the highest digit number of your opponent's defense/resistance.

P.S: If you think I'm 20 years old who happens to be a geek think again, I'm only 14 who knows simple math.
